8th April 2012 At the Brewpub. A sneak preview courtesy of James Brodie. He asked me to be kind as it was still in the conditioning tank., he really didn’t need to ask as this is lovely! Opaque black - brown beer. Residual bubbly tan head. Smooth palate and semi dry. Carbonation is very low but that’s a good thing here. Lovely smooth malts with really well judged whisky that is very very smooth indeed. A little cream and a trace of wood. Dark fruits underneath. Whisper of spice. Smooth finish with more smooth smooth whisky and a little (pleasing) warmth. Smooth is the dominant word here - easily the smoothest BA Stout I’ve had - really delightful.

Leicht herber und malziger Beginn, im Verlauf süffiger aber langweilig laff. Die Herbe geht in bittere Noten über, das Röstmalzig ist gelungen, könnte aber noch intensiver sein. /8/9/10//9
