Big licorice note with creosote in the background. Medium to thin mouthfeel, medium to high carbonation for this style. Not finding it as sweet as some other reviewers, more toward the neutral end balanced nicely with the alcohol, which comes forward toward the end. Not a great depth of flavors, a little one dimensional.

Benzai (12603) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 2, 2016
Bottle shared @ final old style THT. Opaque black color, average sized light to medium brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, lightly roast, liquorice. Taste malts, lightly roast and liquorice again, dark malts and some milk chocolate. Slight touch of alcohol, only lightly bitter. Hmm not bad but also not entirely convincing. Decent though.

Garrold (3922) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2015
Bottle. Cotteridge. Clear, dark cola brown. Halo of tan. Big roast malts. Leather and tar. Dark chocolate. Taste is roast bitter, with a sickly sweetness. Some burnt, savoury bitterness. Too much carbonation thins the mouthfeel. Finishes sickly sweet, and jarring bitter.
