Cask at the William IV (Brodies Autumn Fest), 4th Sept 2010. Black with a diminishing beige head. Wonderfully smooth. Lots of treacle and licorice. Some plum too. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Cask@King William IV, London. Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is nutty, roasted, mild toasted and tobccoish notes as well. Flaavour is nutty, chocolaty, coffeeish and roasted notes with a bunch of liquorice as well. Hides the ABV very well.

Pigs Ear. Opaque black stout, virtually no carbonation. Light yeasty chocolate on the nose. Rich warming alcoholic dark fruits with an undertone of unsweet dark chocolate. Finishes silky.

Gravity Cask, Wandsworth beer festival, 25th March 2011 Thin white lacing coffee espresso, treacle, licorish aroma, taste is silk, velvet, leather, wild berries, caramel, soy source, tar, chocolate, potent, yep Surprisingly easy to drink for something with such a harsh abv. The booze is there but not aggressive. Could be better balanced though.

Trade with Puppies love. Thanks. Pours black with a small creamy bubbly beige head on top. Nose is hard roasted malts, coffee, dark fruit and a bit of soy. Slick, oily and smooth palate. Flavor is hard roasted malts , liquorice , dark fruit and a whiff of alcohol. Alcohol very well hidden. Long lasting end. Smukt!

500ml brought back from King William IV in Leyton to a late October drinking session in Tromsø. Coal black body, beige-brownish head. Promising aroma of sweet dark chocolate. Rich grainy chocolate in flavour added by a hint of dark spices overlaid by a smoky touch. Warming, but well integrated alcohol. My best so far from the Brodies. Shared with Leif and Finn, 27.10.2010.

Min desidert beste Brodies.
