3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7065) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2011
Cask (handpump) at Brodies Bunny Basher Festival at King William IV, Leyton on 1 May 2011. Ruby colour indeed. Loose beige head. Very clear. Good roasty and chocolate feel. Touches of licorice. I thought it seemed a little light bodied for a porter but, seeing the ABV (which I failed to notice when I ordered it), I guess that’s not surprising. I suppose it does end up somewhere between a porter and a mild but it does get plenty of flavour into a beer of this strength.
