Cask (William IV, Leyton, Brodies Christmas Cracker 2009)
Chocolate cake! Massive sweet body. Very cakey palate. Perhaps too sweet and a little less than fresh, but this is so choc full of positive tastes. Finish alas has a slightly salty metallic tin. or zinc twang on the teeth. So massively cakey, it may be sweet, but it’s fun!

Cask at the Alma, London, Oktoberfest Beer Festival. Pours a clear, amber-red with a foamy, off-white head. Holds a hoppy aroma, a little soapy, with some interesting, divergent malts. Nice flavor, lightly sweet, with caramel and a dynamic hop profile. Medium in body with average carbonation and a very smooth mouthfeel. Finishes bitter with light breadiness and earthiness. Interesting.
