3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
New to beer rating normally wine. Had at the excellent Southampton arms 8th feb 2013 so for me delicate nose. Taste :slow on the attack then light tangerine on the mid palate then Omg a tidal wave of grapefruit to a searing finish. Hold on tight. Awesome. Like a top Albariño ! Great work brodies as ever.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest ’13. Orange Gold with white head. Light, hoppy, flowery beer with a hint of peach, quite dry and bitter, refreshing too. Lasting, really pretty good.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Som Broadies Stream på Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak 6 Nov 12. Klar lys gylden. Nesten ikke skum. God syrlig fruktaroma. Sitron. Appelsinskall. Smaken det samme. Frisk - men vel syrlig.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Cask @ King William IV. The pour’s light gold with a tiny head. the nose is light lemon cake, sweet apricot, a hint of grain and white bread. The taste i more light lemon cake, icing, peach syrup and fresh spring meadow hoppiness. Simple, but wonderfully expressive flavors. Light, simple. Overall, wow, I could drink this by the litre. A fantastic beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I had this as Brodies Steam, 4.0 % abv, together with Finn from cask at Southampton Arms. Clear golden body, naked at the top. Citrus fruity hops to the nose. Well blended flavour of fruity hops and honey sweetness. Smooth bitter, semi-dry tail . Ok (London, 06.11.2012).

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
The Barnsbury, Islington on the North London crawl - January 2012. I had this down as Brodie’s Steam, 4.4% - but I seem to recall that the pump clip was handwritten, so it was likely a pub error. The beer was too hoppy for me. A pale, hoppy beer. Uninteresting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Brodies. It pours slightly hazy golden yellow, with a decent white head. The nose is lime, kiwi, melon, floral, incense stick and jasmine. The taste is lime, kiwi, honey, honeysuckle, lemon, soap and floral (particularly jasmine), with some bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body and soft carbonation. This is not normally my sort of thing, but this one is very well done.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2012 5th April 2012
At the Brewpub. Stepney Green Steam. Clear pale gold beer, tiny white head. Light palate, a little dry - nicely crisp. Nice juicy sharp hops here. Lime and tangerine. A little orange pith. Cutting bitterness and a little minerals in the finish. Very nice indeed and for me a reaffirmation of Brodies core strength of really well flavoured modest abv beers.

The Hope, Carlshalton. Really nice lime and lemon citrus with grass and pine. Just medium bitterness, this is all hop flavour. Great beer!
