Cask (William IV, RBESG2011 Saturday)
Very sweet aroma. Seems more like a very sweet barley-wine rather than a belgian triple. Sugary, and some port-wine elements. Quite like some of the strong Ballards specials, but not as refined. A bit too slick. Yeah, definitely a barley wine.

Cask at Brodies BF. Deeply cloudy on the pour with a foamy head. Caramel and yeast in the nose. Very sweet flavor, lots of straight sugar, some yeasty cake. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more yeast and sweet bread, subtle hops. Alright. Perhaps a bit too heavy.

Cask (handpump) at Brodies Bunny Basher Festival at King William IV, Leyton on 1 May 2011. Rather murky amber colour with very little condition. Things got even murkier I got mine - poor old Nate’s looked more like soup than beer. Strong orange peel and spicy hops on the nose. Lots of hops on the palate - more orange and marmalade. A bit sticky but surprisingly drinkable. May not have looked too great but, otherwise, mighty fine.
