3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask (handpump) at Brodies festival, King William IV, Leyton on 8 April 2012. Very dark brown. Cloudy. A little woody. A touch of smoke. Fat fruity malts. Quite sweet but there’s a fair amount to hop bitterness to balance. Alcohol is warming but not too hot. Not usually a big fan of this style but this one suited me rather well.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
8th April 2012
At the Brewpub. Hazy brown beer with a residual pale tan head. Smooth dry palate. Nicely balanced whisky, wood and medium malt. The wood and whisky are surprisingly a little bitter. A trace of fruits underneath. Dry woody finish. Nice beer but the bitterness for this style took a little getting used to.
