Cask-conditioned at the Edgar Wallace, London 27/01/10. Near black with a slight tan head. Aroma of dark fruit and roasted malts with a touch of chocolate. Easy drinking, with more of the same and a decent, bitter finish. Good.

Cask (handpump) at Brodies Christmas Cracker, William IV, Leyton, 19 December 2009. Nearly black. Actually a very very dark red if you peer at it closely enough. Rather dry and dusty. Quite roasty and burnt, producing a moderately bitter mouthfeel. Slightly tart notes on the finish. A very good drinking mild.

Cask handpull at The Edgar Wallace, London. The regular mild with hops added. Very dark brown, lasting dark beige head. Very touch of plasticine and malt on the aroma. OK in mouth, some dry malt on finish. Bit of hop sting. OK.

Ligher? This is black! Flat too. Rich roasty stale coffee aroma. Very rich full roasty malty palate. Has some hops too. But most of the bitterness if through the burntness of the roast. Some toffee in the finish.
