Countbeer (1944) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2012
Bottle: Medium thicker but lively beige tan colored head which disappears quite slowly and leaves a vast and closed beige/tan lacing on top of a cloudy ruby colored beer. Smell some dirty/nasty malts, fruit (apple and melon), yeast, barley malts and spices (orange peel and pepper). Taste is better than the Jacob Tripel, still not interesting and this one is still on the weak side. The mouthfeel is quite lively and spicy and causes the entire taste to vanish pretty quick. Just some notes of barley malts, caramel, light yeasty fruity hints of apple, raisin, some light toasted hay and some sharper herbs. A light to medium bitterness and there seems to be some kind of soda drink but than the light version, touch to this beer. It leaves a short aftertaste of herbs, hay and some malt. Medium to full carbo, lively tingly spicy mouthfeel, medium body and a texture between watery and creamy.

Swaroga (355) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 6, 2012
75cl bottle. Pours a dark brown with thick tanned head. Nose : Roasted malts with a chocolate and little toffee notes. Strong aromas of yeast that feels like cheetos. Some dried fruits. Sip : Low density with oily texture. It has a tingling carbonation. It’s sweet and very mild overall taste. It develops just a bit bitter notes of coffee and hops in the background. The aftertaste is mellow bitter watery coffee. Overall : extra points for being my first beer today otherwise it’s too mild and lacking some fun in drinking it. One think I adore about the Broeder Jacob beers it’s the glass. It’s a wonderful tasting glass that has the capacity to hold the nose aromas even better then the tulip. Extra points there too.
