3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. An almost clear one, reddish dark brown in color and with a small, dense, beige head. The aroma has some chocolate, but it’s the coffee that does most of the work. Some faint notes of dms in the far back. Lacking some on complexity maybe, but it’s nice anyway. The flavor is pretty much the same, but the Belgian heritage shines through with white sugar and a yeasty hint. Full to medium body, semi dry and with a pleasant carbonation level. Coffee dominates the finish. Quite nice this one, but nothing more. 140111

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 33cl. Beige head which quickly disappeared. Nice aroma but not with the intense coffee/espresso nose which i expected, looking at the label (double espresso). I would rather say it’s a bit flat. One of these examples where the expectations not were met, unfortunate. Finish is short, does not stay long in your mouth. One thing which surprised me, was that for the type of beer it is high carbonized.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at home (gusher). Pours brown with a with frothy head, disappears fast. Malty aroma, more belgian ale than stout. Malts again in the taste, a hint of coffee in the aftertaste. Could not find the double espresso anywhere though.

@Secret Sinterklaas, Thanx !
donker bruin/zwart met schuimige kaki kraag
aroma: karton, moutig, koffie/mocca

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Stubby bottle, 330 ml. At home, poured into a snifter. ABV 7.7%
Pours a deep brown red colour on the body with deep ruby shades when the light hits it. Two fingers of thick, light beige head, with very good retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass.
Aroma is full of coffee, then some chocolate, light vanilla.
Amazing taste, again lots of creamy coffee, dark chococate, hint of vanilla. Mildly sweet overall, aftertaste has more of the coffee.
Medium body, a bit high on the carbonation. Oily palate.
Overall very tasty, I expected it to be good but not that good. Great!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Solid dark brown, with pleasant, off white head. Nose is sweet, malty, prunes, coffee. Flavor is sweet initially and more bitter as it goes; still light, coffee overtones for sure. Body is thin; makes for a light stout, easily drinkable, but i could have a bit more body. Overall, good marriage of stout and sweet belgian together.
