0,75 fles gedeeld met Rikstar. Donker bier, redelijke schuimkraag. Aroma is koffie, chocola en licht alcoholisch. Smaak is bitter, veel zoet.

33cl bottle at home from Mitra, Maarssen. Body is clear to opalescent deep ruby brown, head is medium, beige, fizzy, average lasting, fair lacing. Nose is belgian yeast, flavor is light roasted malt, cola, caramel. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Finish is medium lasting light roasty medium bitter, light coffee, medium alcohol warmth. Medium body, dry texture, fizzy carbonation. Easy dessert beer, rather feels like an abbey dubbel, or cola, not too exciting.

Drinking from a 33 cl bottle. A fruity aroma, berries, coffee. The clear brown beer has a medium brown head. In the taste espresso, chocolate, blue berries, alcohol. Medium carbonated.

Clear brown, big beige head. Fruity nose, malt, mild roast, stale coffee. Flavor is more stale coffee, caramel, red fruit, acidic touches. Lingering booze, coffee and caramel. Not bad, but the coffee tends to get stale pretty quickly in these things. Pretty round and easy to drink. Shared by martjoobolut, thanks!

750ml bottle. Clear dark copper color. Medium size, beige head, stays. Sweet, raisins, malty, metallic notes in aroma. Metallic, earthy, malty, some coffee beans in taste. Too high carbonation for this type of beer. No thanks.

750ml bottle - thanks Marduk!
Smells of tinned tomatoes, metallic. Tastes of rye bread, but also very old. BB 9 months in the future. Raw and old stale metallic taste. Just occasionally I get a hint of coffee, but it’s rare, and it’s not so nice at all. Even 2.2 is an overrate. Watery palate, thinnish. So much an overrate, this is going down the drain.

Just as the aroma, the taste is also dominated by the javan coffee from Finca La Pila in Guatemala that Broeder Jacob uses to flavour this beer. The intense coffee taste blands with hints of milk chocolate and a subtle bitterness. And intetresting and pleasent mix. The whole is complex but mild and round. So you can either discover all the taste notes or just enjoy the overall experience. There are some flavours that are an perfect match with strong dark beers. Coffee is definitely one of those and the Double Espresso will bring you the proof!

Bottle sample. Cloudy dark brownish-amber with medium beige head. Spicy aroma, dried fruits, notes of caramel, date honey and some maltiness. Very sweet flavor, spicy, yeasty, dried fruits, prune and notes of coffee, faint soy sauce notes and quite boozy. Light carbonation, medium-bodied.
