Nice experiment at that works. Is it special? Not really, it doesnt have the sweetness of the port i know, but i dont know that much about port. Bottle, 75cl, from De Zwart in Wilnis

Aroma of bready malt, caramel, sweet dried fruits, prunes, oak, raisins, grapes, port, some alcohol. Flavour is cloying sweet and a little boozy with a light bittersweet finish. Sweetness is way too much.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 09/12/17, at Stadin Panimobaari, 20150705) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head was medium sized and nearly white. Aroma had caramel, chocolate and port wine. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, aniseed, Belgian style yeast and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A decent malty brew.

På flaska import från Belgien. Mörk brun i färgen. Doftar en aning av rostade nötter. En söt smak av kola.

Het bier is zeer verfrissend. kwa smaak komt de port subtiel naar voren. Nasmaak is wat walnootachtig wa het bier afmaakt. Een zeer geslaagd bier.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is dark ruby red colored and pours a coffee colored head, with nice carbonation. The aroma is port, with clear wood notes (oak), almonds, nuts and the fruitiness of plums. The taste is full bodied and creamy, with a nice sweet fruitness and a subtle bitter. The finish is warming, light bitter but above all very long.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Plus, Culemborg. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is very malty with roasted malts, red fruits and, yes, some port. Taste is sweet with some bitterness. Finish is long and quite vinous. Normally I’m not a big fan of port, too sweet for my taste, but mixed with a good beer it’s a great combination.
