Bottle. Aroma has caramel, malt and raisins. Dark brown color with quite small light brown head. Taste is malty and sweet with long aftertaste. Flavors of port, ripe fruits, chocolate, caramel, spices. Strong body, quite high carbonation and also some alcohol warmth. Interesting combination.

The dark and full-flavoured beer has a subtile after-taste of walnuts and produces a unique taste explosion that can develop to the flavour of a true vintage. This beer is fortified with the exquisite Tawny Port Portal d’Azenha (Portugal). This elegant and delicate Port matures for at least five years in oak barrels.

Bottle 33cl. Black coloured with a creme top that fades somewhat. Aroma is not very special; it seems I can recognize coffee hints? When you let the liquid run through your mouth, the Co2 is most apparent. There’s a bitter hint underneath that comes to front when the Co2 has escaped. Not bad, but I can’t see what this has to do with port.

0,33 liter bottle. Dark brown almost black beer. You definitely taste the port in this beer. Taste is sweet, grapey, small sweet, sour and bitter. The blend of the beer with the port is real good. It?s definitely a complex beer and one to taste for everyone out there. Kind of amazed that the average review is so low!

330cc bottle. Dark brown with a this beige head. Looise kind of stouty but the nose and mouth is completely different. Caramel and port wine. The blend between the two drinks is very nice. The taste reveals the port wine. That tawny woody taste comes through but also malt. It is sweet and could not be otherwise. Could have less bitterness and more of that "vinho fino" character. A great drink just now discovered. I will be keeping a few bottles home.

As the name tells, the aroma smells (stupid rime, I know…), but that’s what you get: a full fruity portwine aroma, slightly acid, accompanied by subtle coffee notes. To me, the acid note could be a bit less pronounced to make it less harsh. Dark brown color with a ruby glow and a thick tan head. Nice for ytour eyes (again a stupid rime… :-D) From the nose to the toes (Foamhead - that’s enough of stupid riming now…!). The portwine taste is undeniable and comes from a tawny portwine, aged 5 years in wooden barrels. This offers a great tasting experience that is enriched by nuances of caramel and raosted bread. The taste is round and full as is the body. The finish is alcoholig and slightly dry. This beer is not aged in portwine barrels, its a blend of a Strong Belgian Dark Ale with a 5 year old Tawny Portwine. The result is surprisingly round and complex yet easy to enjoy.

@ Nijmeegse winterbier feesten. Unclear dark brown bier with a small white head. Taste is caramel, sweet fruity, lots of herbs. Nice porter.
