Bottle from Beer Museum, Brugge, Belgium. Inky black with ruby red highlights and a huge rocky head of tan foam. It has a sweet currant, red berry and port flavour followed by vanilla and more red fruit on the sweet finish. Nice but too high ABV for the flavour.

As close to port as you can have in a beer. Thick and slick. Dark fruit, brown sugar, licorice, and alcohol. Tried with Harm and his friends in Zutphen.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2016 Bottle @ Pesos, Asten. Very dark brown, beige foamy head that nicely laces. Red wine grapes, light roasted malts, some dried fruits, liquorice, leather, bitterness in the finish. Aftertaste’s short. Good body, (too) lively carbonation, dry mouthfeel.

Pours dark reddish with a stable off-white head that lasts long. Fruity, oaky and vinous aroma. Clear notes of ripe fruits, sugar and yeast as well. Sounds promising. Tastewise quite smoothly sweet with good fruity notes. Strong vinous tone that lingers for long and a clear hint of raisin, red fruits and oak. Faint hint of chocolate as well. Moderately bitter near the end. Pretty creamy in texture. Moderately carbonated. Full bodied. Definitely a well brewed beer. Fairly complex and well balanced with a surprisingly great taste.
