Bottle. As Double Port. It pours a clear, dark reddish brown body under a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. The aroma is roasted and cellarish, with prunes and dried figs, some alcohol too. Almost vinous. The flavor isn’t equally interesting and complex, but still quite nice. Prunes and dried figs and some alcohol warmth. Full body and a pleasant carbonation, with a little warming touch. Some dms in the finish, where it’s mostly dried fruits showing up. A bit short finish. Pity the flavor isn’t in the same league as the aroma, but it’s a nice one anyway. 140111

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Pours very dark brown, alomst black. Aromas of molasses, raisins, bread, porto, alcohol. Taste is disappointing.Full, but unbalanced. Heavy, lacks refinement. Rather unpleasant after a while.

Brown with a copper glance, brown head gone in 60 seconds. Sugar, candi sugar, distinct alcoholic, liqueur, dark fruits. Taste: caramelized malts, very sweet finish, alcoholic. well (over)carbonated. Body is less what you would expect/need from this brew. Overall: all seems good but mainly sweet & alcohol, can’t convince me. this beer is missing something.

Iets alcohol nasmaak.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours amber in color with a tan head. Dark fruity sweetness, notes of raisins and red berries, some spices and bready malts in aroma. Red fruits in taste along with some sweetish darker fruits. Decent take on a dubbel with a port twist.
