4oz pour at the brew pub. Awesome! Poured a dark ruby, fine tan head, light chocolate malt aroma, rich malt flavor, lots of chocolate, slightly sweet, rich and chewy chocolate, an excellent chocolate porter disguised as a brown ale. Pretty darn good.

Light brown in color, clear with a thin head. Watery in the flavor this beer needed more work. More a beer for the masses than a good tasty brew for the geeks. Light in the malt.

On tap at the brewery. Pours brown with a fleeting beige head. Smells and tastes of mild cocoa, mixed nuts, and barley. Muted, but decent.

On tap @ the brewpub. Brown with a small tan head. Roasty malt aroma with hints of smoke and caramel. Sweet flavor and a bitterness from the roasted grains. Medium body, smooth mouth feel with an average carbonation. This is an easy drinker.

[1683-20080906] Tap. Mild grain and mild chocolate aroma notes. Clear, dark red brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. More grainy chocolate malt in the flavour. Medium body. Nice brown.

2008-09-06. Very dark brown body with a small off-white head. Flavour is fruiter than I would expect from a brown ale (I am starting to suspect the house yeast?). Sweet malt base, very light roast malt. Aroma is similarly malt forward with a light roasty toasty malt, and hints of caramel. Average palate. Decent. On tap at the brewpub.
