They don’t call it black gold for nothing. This full bodied oatmeal stout is smooth and creamy. Even if you don’t consider yourself a dark beer drinker, be sure to ask for a taste. "Fuel for your next Alaskan adventure".

2008-09-06. Pitch black body with a modest tan head. (4+) Mild roasty malt aroma. Flavour is fairly sweet, light roast malt is pervasive but surprisingly not assertive. Smooth average plus palate is light for a stout. (3+) Decent, but I preferred the porter I think. On tap at the brewpub.

[1685-20080906] Tap. Mild grainy roast malt aroma. Dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Boozy roasted coffee malt flavour. Full body has noticeable alcohol. Big kick initially, nice stout.

12-ounce bottle. Huge medium-tan surging head, nitro-like. Modest toasty malt on the nose, but a nice rish combination of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, and a bit of licorice. Very creamy mouthfeel. Would gladly drink again.

Had on tap at the brewpub. Dark, licorice-like appearance, thick mocha colored head with good lacing. Bittersweet chocolate flavor with some sweet licorice accents. Thick, silky mouthfeel. All in all, a very good brewpub stout.
