Draft: Poured a brown black with a tan color head. Aroma is thick roasted malts and nice off setting hops. Nice crisp up front, smooth roasted character and sweetness.

4oz pour at the brew pub. Pous black with a medium tan head...retention and lacing are average. Aroma has light smoke. Flavor is very roasted and has some smoke, molasses,citrus, and coffee. Mouthfeel is silky and creamy with a dry roasted finish that lingers. Pretty well made, hate to say it but moose tooth is stating to taste a bit better than piece brewery.

Dark brown in color, clear with a thin head. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Nice porter aroma this was a very good porter. Tasty ad the pizza and this beer was perfect.

On tap at Moose’s Tooth, Anchorage. Deep garnet body, thin tight cream head. Dry nose with toast and coffee. Body dominated by dark chocolate, coffee, and rich roasted malts. Quite good- a dry, roasty, very nice rendition.

Smell wasn’t strong and while it had a good head, it dissipated too quickly. Dark brown but clear. Effervescent and thin, slightly astringent on the finish. Most noticeably nutty, roasted malt flavor, coffee-like. Nothing crazy for a porter.

(tap) clear very dark amber (almost black) with small brown head; aorma - malts, flavor - coffee, rather one dimensional

On tap @ Moose’s Tooth. Roasted malt aroma with a faint hint of hops. Dark brown with a bit of light showing through the side of the glass. Mostly sweet taste that has a very slight bitterness. All around good porter, fairly robust and very smooth.

Pours a deep brown with a faint tan head. Medium to heavy body with coffee and chocolate flavors noticeable. Very nice finish of hops.

[1684-20080906] Tap. Some hints of roasted malt and grainy chocolate in the aroma with something like mint. Dark brown body with a medium-lasting light tan creamy head. Lots of toasted multigrain crust and yeast in the flavour with some chocolate malt characteristics. Medium-full body. Good porter.
