COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber, American-style pale ale is brewed with five different barley malts, generous additions of Cascade and Centennial hops, and a unique strain of yeast. The British, German and American malts used provide a complex blend of caramel, biscuit, and nutty malt flavors. The hops provide a gentle, pleasant bitterness with an intense floral and citrus aroma. It is dry-hopped, unfiltered and unpasteurized. We hope you enjoy this fresh, local beer. Brew details: OG 1.064. FG 1.016. ABV 6.3%. SRM 9.6. IBU 34.7.

On tap at Caf Un Deux Trois. Smell is straightforward pine, caramel, orange, grapefruit. Pretty nice. Taste is very malty for a pale ale: caramel and rye with some sort of slightly artificial fruitiness like peach gummis. Vaguely Belgian-tasting. Finish is long and sticky. Not bad but wont return.

From US pint can. Pours a clear copper-amber with a large tightly packed off-white head. Fine carbonation. Aromas of pine needles, lemon, orange zest and caramel. The taste starts out with orange and caramel, before a gentle pine resin bitterness comes through. Clean finish with a lightly spicy aftertaste. The flavours are ok but the lack of body means they dont carry through and it lacks punch. Not bad but not particularly memorable.

473can. pours a very nice rich copper colour. Aroma. one i can best describe as sweet citrus. Taste. very hard for me to explain accurately, but very bitter with some slight caramel and nut undertones. Overall. Quite a good beer, and another great example of an american pale ale.

Drought. Light amber-yellow with small off white head, no distinct aroma, sweetish hoppy taste, low carbonation, long finish with molasses like sweetness enduring on your palate. Not very remarkable.

473 ML can Dark orange amber color. Good, long lasting off white head. Nice retention before falling to a thick collar with some sticky, soap like lacing. Nose is slightly sweet. Biscuit, brown sugar and soft orange peel. Taste is very sharp and bitter. Only issue is very metallic bitterness. Some slight pine, grapefruit and orange bitterness but really overshadowed by the metal sharpness. Oily and medium body, light carbonation. Better local beers

malty and nicely hopped. A bit sweet in the mainpart. The aftertaste is intense, nicely hopped with floral hop-aroma and lots of maltyness. Slightly sweet and nicely bittered. Solid but a bit too sweet. 12/12/11/10

Can: dark amber with a white head, has a nice amount of hop presence for a pale ale, fairly malty finish.

16 oz can, and of course Id consider 6.3% abv to be an IPA, not just a PA. Nose is piny, with some bread, huge doughy caramel. Very nice hop profile! Pours amber into the glass, evenly split between its red and oranges, with a dense and noisy beige head. Taste of light bitterness, actually pretty strong for a pale ale, maybe even medium in the absence of normal sweetness, as its pretty dry. Chewy caramel, some resin and very mild astringency, no real oily, some mild biscuity and nutty notes toward the finish, but no bread. Rye-like spice. Straightforward and sharp rather than the juice-bombs of modernest IPAs. Clean, light body but plenty of carbonation. This reminds me much more of earlier plans, like the classic SNPA, though updated with a little more severity and 10% more Lagunitas-like hopping. Very nice!
