COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber, American-style pale ale is brewed with five different barley malts, generous additions of Cascade and Centennial hops, and a unique strain of yeast. The British, German and American malts used provide a complex blend of caramel, biscuit, and nutty malt flavors. The hops provide a gentle, pleasant bitterness with an intense floral and citrus aroma. It is dry-hopped, unfiltered and unpasteurized. We hope you enjoy this fresh, local beer. Brew details: OG 1.064. FG 1.016. ABV 6.3%. SRM 9.6. IBU 34.7.

Can: dark amber with a white head, has a nice amount of hop presence for a pale ale, fairly malty finish.

16 oz can, and of course I’d consider 6.3% abv to be an IPA, not just a PA. Nose is piny, with some bread, huge doughy caramel. Very nice hop profile! Pours amber into the glass, evenly split between its red and oranges, with a dense and noisy beige head. Taste of light bitterness, actually pretty strong for a pale ale, maybe even medium in the absence of normal sweetness, as it’s pretty dry. Chewy caramel, some resin and very mild astringency, no real oily, some mild biscuity and nutty notes toward the finish, but no bread. Rye-like spice. Straightforward and sharp rather than the juice-bombs of modernest IPAs. Clean, light body but plenty of carbonation. This reminds me much more of earlier plans, like the classic SNPA, though updated with a little more severity and 10% more Lagunitas-like hopping. Very nice!

Thanks to someone in a BIF. Pours dark reddish gold with a moderate white top. Aroma is caramel malts and pine and earthy hop. Taste is a little subdued on the hop flavouring but it still very well balanced with a solid malt base of caramel and biscuit and then pine hops that add great body.

Medium copper pour with a small head. Aromas of toasted malts, light pine, and a touch of caramel. Toast and light citrus throughout the swallow. Eh not much standing out here. Decent

On tap @ The House of Brews, NY. Clear amber color with medium sized creamy white head, nice lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus and floral hops, caramel and biscuit malt. Taste starts with light sweet caramel malty backbone, which is quickly predominted by fresh fruity acidity, while finish is very pleasant and gently bitter. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Extremely drinkable beer with lots of citrus...

Tap at Madison Square Garden for a Rangers game (NHL). Poured a nice brown/amber color with an off white head. Looks like an amber ale. Nose surprisingly has bitter grapefruit and caramel/biscuit malts. Very appealing. Taste is super easy drinking - typical grapefruit based pale. This is actually pretty good. Great beer for the ice hockey!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich copper coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head that fades fast and leaves a relatively nice lace. Aroma of biscuits, earth, nutty malt and quite a bit of herbal and grassy hop notes - nice and balanced. Medium-bodied; Assertive grapefruit hops up front with a deep malt backbone that is nuanced with some yeast and caster sugar. Aftertaste shows a lot of biscuits, some english or german hop subtleties and a bit of light sugars from toffee that permeate through the end. Overall, a good and relatively smooth pale - showing some signs of English, but more of an APA. Good, but not great nor excellent - still a good beer on a train or somewhere that cans are good for. I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in New York, New York (Bowery location) on 01-November-2013 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington in honour of the tragic train derailment in the Bronx earlier today on 01-December-2013.
