COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep amber, American-style pale ale is brewed with five different barley malts, generous additions of Cascade and Centennial hops, and a unique strain of yeast. The British, German and American malts used provide a complex blend of caramel, biscuit, and nutty malt flavors. The hops provide a gentle, pleasant bitterness with an intense floral and citrus aroma. It is dry-hopped, unfiltered and unpasteurized. We hope you enjoy this fresh, local beer. Brew details: OG 1.064. FG 1.016. ABV 6.3%. SRM 9.6. IBU 34.7.

16oz tallboy can given to me by Ed5388, since there is no more OTD I will refrain in describing where Ed had the can "hidden" during it’s transport over. After a thorough wwashing of the can it poured into my Cigar City snifter a mostly clear sunburnt orange with a small to average sized quicker fading foamy light beige head. Aroma is definitely malt driven with lots of grains and crusts, caramel sweetness, light chocolate and just a tiny touch of citrus rind. Medium bodied with tight bubbly carbonation and a lingering flavor tingle that seems more carbonation driven than hop driven. Flavor starts off nice with noticeable caramel sweetness but that fades and dry bread crusts and citrus rind take over. I guess this is ok but nothing special like their Black Pale Ale.

16oz can via 4 pack from Crossroads Spirits. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a finger and a half of fluffy off white head. Aroma of old citrus, black pepper, and lots of caramel malt. Taste mimics the nose. Very malty, lots of caramel, old citrus, a little earthy, and a peppery finish.

Draft at the keg room. Pours Amber with a large white head. The aroma has a bit of a rye note, florals, very light pine. The taste is light bitter, a toasted maltiness, a bit more like an amber ale.

Clear deep ruby color, good beige head. Bready, pale malty, citrusy hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Citrus hoppy, resiny and nice bitterness backed with some sweetish pale maltyness.

16oz can. Pours clear amber with a thin white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, caramel, grass. Thin texture, average carbonation, lightly bitter, malt forward fading to hops with tastes of caramel and a brief finish. Nothing to write home about.

Wow, a couple of guys from the Bronx replicated Brooklyn Lager and made it a pale ale. If you like Brooklyn Lager you will like this. Tasty, but nothing creative or original.

Dark amber pour. Thick, pretty creamy off-white head. Lasting nicely. Piney hops and crystal malt in the nose. Creamy mouthfeel dominates at first, partially resulting from a nice pour. Moves to a rich maltiness of caramel and biscuit. It feels like everything is delayed in this. The malt doesn’t shop up until the finish, and the hop bitterness doesn’t come until long after. There’s a definite sourness in the finish that is a bit unpleasant. It blends with the hop bitterness and really sits there. I wish that pine in the aroma was more present in the flavor. Instead it just goes from creamy and bland to a bit of malt, right into sour. OK for guzzling out of the can, but not great to sit and savor.

Can courtesy of Eric and company at ChurchKey, thank you gentlemen! Clear deep amber color, white edge head. Aroma of fresh pine, grass, hay, honey. Taste starts malty, but nice balance.

Received this in a recent BIF. Served in a Half Acre snifter. A: Pours a solid amber color with a yellowish head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin ring that leaves some sticky lace down the glass. S: Sticky sweet malts. Some dried oat flavors with an earthy hop character. A little dirty and "green". T: A lot of earthy hops. Dirty and veggie like with some sweet oat malts. There is an odd metallic finish with some stale malts. M: Medium to light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Earthy and metallic finish. O: Didn’t enjoy this one particular much. The stale malt and metallic-like character in the finish really was off-putting. Wasn’t that drinkable. Serving type: can 06-16-2013

Can at Churchkey. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast malt, dates, spicy and earthy hops with herbal notes. Flavor is malt and hop balanced with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
