We love all kinds of farmhouse ales. But the original farmhouse ales weren’t big beers - they were beers you could drink while working in the hot sun all day. Our 1/2 ale reaches back to that tradition - it’s a dry, hoppy, citrusy, and delicious saison all at 3.4% Alc. By Vol. In fact, you CAN have everything.

Bottle from Marks and Spencer Team Valley. Nice easy saison - citrus, sherbet flavours. Perhaps a touch watery but still very tasty

Pours a very pale colour. Taste is zesty and hoppy. A very big beer considering the abv

A light yellow beer, a head is quite small and blond. Aroma has strong lemon, some spices and lime. Taste has storng lemon, slightly musty maltyness, some citrusfruity sourness, some spices in the end. Light bodied, slightly harsh to drink. Too much lemon, not for me.

Bottle. Hazy golden, whitish head. Fruity, summer meadow, light spicy notes in aroma. Floral and slightly spicy taste. Light bodied. Bit of mild spicyness in finish.

Pours slightly hazy straw with a small head. Nose shows light lemon and farmhouse notes, some elderflower too. Very faint. Flavours are dominated by sorachi ace derived custard and dill notes followed by a very dry, easy-going finish. Insanely drinkable.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Joes and Judyvv. Slightly hazy pale yellow color, small soapy white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste malts, slightly hoppy but also a bit dishwasher water. Taste lightly malts, again a bit dishwasher water again, slightly herbal, slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Low to average body and carbonation. Very easy drinkable and better than expected.

A good alternative if you can’t drink stronger beer. Nice, hoppy citrusy flavour, very reminiscent of a pale ale. Bit abrupt finish, but what can you expect given the low abv?

Funky citrus, and not in a good way. This is half as good as any other real saison that you’ll find.
