COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Poured a light golden color, had a weird taste that i could not describe. It is my least favorite brew by the brewer.

Pours slightly amber with a small head. Not a ton of aroma. Taste us of alcohol without much malt or hop action. Maybe the keg was dodgy.

Deep amber color. Two finger head. Faint hop aroma. Bright hops up front and a malty sweetness on the finish. Great sessionable beer.

This is the only the second APA I’ve ever had. It was very different from all the IPAs I’ve ever had. Granted, this is the only pale ale I’ve had on draft The aroma wasn’t extremely hoppy like most IPAs I’ve had. It looks more like an amber beer with a small white head. It has a somewhat sweet taste, (which I found odd) and I don’t mind that at all. It’s pretty thin as far as body goes and it finishes a little bitter but more sweet. Overall I would suggest this to pale ale lovers that want a brake from the bitter taste and sharp finish.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury. Clear copper amber colour with thick beige head. Balanced malt and hoppy aroma. Oddly a touch of marzipan on the flavour. Funnily enough I didn’t look at the style beforehand, but after one mouthfull I knew that this would go down as an English Pale Ale. It is quite English in some respects. Biscuity aroma, reminds me of a Nottingham yeast too. But this shows the difference between 2 and 6 row malts. This is so much more tasty. A tasty English style beer.Good and full in mouth too.

Pours a dark amber color. Aroma of hay and malt. initial taste is of slightly tart malt with a bit of lemon and raspberry towards the finish. The hops round out the flavor nicely giving it a sharp, but smooth and malty finish.

Interesting take on an English Pale Ale...the color is a reasonable amber, very clear. Aroma reminds me of a loaf of country Italian bread. Taste of caramel, light hop taste (hops were a bit bitter but overall crisp), with very light cereal tastes. Certainly a good beer that I will drink again.

Malty, I got a very fresh bottle, there is a slight medicinal hop bite. Nothing intriguing really.
