Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jul 3, 2008 Bottle purchased at Sam’s Wine & Spirits, in Chicago. Pours a clear, dark copper with a finger of creamy, off-white head and sheets of creamy lace. The nose is of sweet, biscuity malt backed by woody/earthy Fuggle and lightly citric hop notes. Light to medium-bodied and lightly creamy with a mildly bitter finish that includes a touch of astringency at the swallow. The flavor follows the nose, coming across as a tad too sweet and astringent for my tastes. Overall, however, this isn’t too bad. Cruzan59 (197), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2008 12oz bottle (variety pack) from Bayville Package Store, Fenwick Island, DE...pours amber in color, small head...kind of a musty malty small...nothing really jumps out with the flavor, mild citrus, bit of a metallic aftertaste...thin mouthfeel...not bad, not great. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Jun 24, 2008 Moderate apple malt aroma. Clear orange color with a tan long lasting head. Mild beginning with tangy finsh. Sticky palate. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA Jun 24, 2008 Hazy tea color. Lacing white head. Smells of yeast and malt. Smooth hops. Dry ending to a very malt start. A bit too dank and yeasty for me. nuplastikk (1159), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 23, 2008 12oz Pennant Ale bottle. Chestnut-amber color. Lots of fruity and warm fuggles hops coming through. Big, biscuity malt profile reminiscent of a good English ale. Good session beer with a smooth finish. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Jun 22, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber, clear body with small white head. The aroma is malt and hop. Taste is hop and yeast. Decent beer. jaymobrown (1343), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 20, 2008 Light and crisp. A little yeast flavor and some mild hops. Pretty tame overall, but I’d say a good beer to drink. I bought a six pack and drank it in one sitting with some friends. While it won’t explode with some crazy flavors, it’s something that’s good for a night of drinking, to relax or just to have around. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 13, 2008 Much better than the ratings, but not much like a pale ale - more like a golden ale. There’s not much hoppiness but lots of flavor to enjoy, good offering from Brooklyn.
