Sweet malty smell that is pleasant. Taste is sweet, malty, and slight citrus flavor, and hops linger in the aftertaste. Nice beer. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Well rounded blend of malt and hops. Toasted chestnut flavor that tastes a little bit watery to me. I may have gotten a bad batch, I’ll have to try this again down the road and re-review. As it stands... overall a decent beer, I actually enjoyed it better out of the bottle than the glass. HopBackDoc (393), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 28, 2008 Pours a clear copper color with decent head. Aroma of malts and animal crackers. Flavor was doughy malts, sweet malts, banana, grass and a nice bitter hop finish. I like this style and Brooklyn did this one good.Very drinkable and satisfying. ekarmst (35), Ames, Iowa, USA

A gorgeous beer on pour. Nice frothy off white head, crystal clear cooper color.
The nose is malty with definite biscuit aromas and more diacelyl than I prefer in a beer. Hop aroma is low but evident.
A bit over carbonated which makes this ale a refreshing quaff but with a tangy not creamy mouth feel. Medium to light bodied, well attenuated.
A well balanced palate with decent bitterness. Hop flavor is restrained. Malt flavor is ther but diacetyl rears its ugly head once again and lingers through the finish. A bit one dimensional relying too much on biscuit flavors with too little caramel. Some carbonic tang through the finish.
A nice beer that hits all of the marks but it seems to be a bit road weary. Reminds me too much of New Castle Brown Ale with all the diacetyl. Yes, this style can have some diacetyl, but there is much more than expected in this example. I will chalk the flaws up to a hard trip from Brooklyn to Central Iowa via Chicago. I must get to the brewery to sample this on tap. WabashMan (801), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 27, 2008 Pours a muddy, dark copper, with a decent sized off white head. Nose is malty with strong wheat noes. Flavor is similarly malty, but a little thin. Not bad, but it could use some depth. sleepylopes (313), New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 27, 2008 a nice ball game ale. not much to say clasic use of the maris otter. i like that the hopping on this beer is not the typical funky garden brooklyn flavor. Dedollewaitor (3649), Odense, Denmark
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 26, 2008 Bottle. Thanks to TheWolf. BB 07/07. Pours unclear amber with a off white head. Aroma is of caramel & hops. Thin mouthfeel. Earthy & slightly sour taste. Over the top...! markwise (1175), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 25, 2008 This beer pours a deep amber color and has a quickly dissipating off-white head. It has a strong sweet malt aroma and finshes with an astringent bitter aftertaste. There is enough sweet malt to carry this beer, but there are no real surprises here. Mellow beer.
