The original is good. A balance between flavor and easy drinking. A bit filling but overall delicious for any occasion JamesD (194), Centreville, Virginia, USA

The aroma and flavor are not that exceptional but they are pretty smooth and go down easy. The flavor is a lot less hoppy than I’m used to for pale ales, which isn’t a bad thing if you prefer more balance. jwdevalue (158), Neptune, New Jersey, USA

Aroma faint. Taste has some bitterness covered by some malt. Bitter finish. Good Pale Ale. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Pours a clear amber with almost no head. Nose is a little nutty. A little sugary sweet. Flavor is slightly meaty. Medium body. Long staying power of hops in the mouth, though mild. Feel is thin with bubble. Very drinkable, yes. A stable pale ale, but nothing really that fantastic. Might work good as a session beer. But still, there are greater out there. SledgeJr (2960), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2007 In the bottle from Inari Wines. My bottle was packaged as "Brooklyn Pennant Ale 55." This was surprisingly good. A traditional and substantial everyday ale. I’d like to think that this was the type of beer made on good days in the old days. That is, on those rare occasions when the beer was not flawed, I bet it tasted something like this. Yeasty and doughy in its aroma, it’s not heavy, but it has a malty flavor. This is the most lager-tasting ale that I’ve ever had. I’d say it was a stand-up double. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2007 Copper with decent head. Citrus hops and lots of bready malts on the nose. Nice bready malts with a floral hop presence. Well balanced ale. tjthresh (1765), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Pours a hazy copper with a fine white head.
The initial aroma is of toast and biscuit malts. Not really much hop are yeast character at all.
A little bit of buttered biscuit flavor, balanced with pedestrian hop flavor. Just enough bitterness to notice.
Medium body. Semi-sweet finish.
Just sort of okay.
