Clear deep orange gold in appearance, thin white fizzy head. Taste is very sweet and malty. Lots of hops in the finish. Nothing else too distinguishable in the flavor. Full mouthfeel is nice, lots of carbonation however. Could use a little less. Not a bad beer, good for the style. footy (334), scottsdale, Arizona, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours a deep-hued amber with a big fluffy white head that’s slowly settling down. A pretty rich aroma of heavy malts and some hops. Biscuity and ’chewy’ smelling. Flavor starts off distant and rides up into a solid balance of malts and hops. Per the description, these Maris Otter malts make it quite biscuity (flavor and aroma). Quite watery on the palate, a bit dry at the end, but very drinkable. Looks like Brooklyn’s most accessible beer, but for an EPA, this is kind of lacking. The body isn’t what I expected, and the flavor isn’t as complex or ’strong’ as I expect some EPAs to be, but it made for a nice first beer of the day. jaybreezy (5), USA does not count | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 13, 2007 12 oz. bottle, Pittsburgh, PA. Frothy, tawny head like cumulus clouds with lacing that clings like wet antique doilies. Pours caramel color. Watery palate and smooth malt notes make it easy for summer. Stringent, rather harsh aftertaste and undertones. Mostly malt flavors, like a slurry of soil and sugar. Just okay. JPDIPSO (4884), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Dark amber to copper color with a moderate light beige head. Light floral hops drift over the floor malt. Feel is a bit fizzy for me and this style. Caramel and cream flavors. A light herbal bitterness balances things out. Even after a vigorous swirl there is a lot effervescence. Quite drinkable. No real flavor faults. Light bitter finish and linger. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 18/20 | Sep 3, 2007 Pours to a pale base which rises into brilliant amber hues. The nose was sweet, with defined cocoa and malt. The tastes introduces itself with a wave of barbera grapes and spring flowers, but moves into the cocoa from the nose as well as cotton candy. Its fooling though, because the expected sweetness from the sugary nose remains sutle. A little to fizzy but refreshing in the mouth. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyed beer. pamoja (57), Rochester, New York, USA
