Aroma is primarily malt, with a bit of hops. Sweet, malty, biscuity flavor. Mild hops. Long, sweet malt finish. Really easy to drink. wingman333 (238), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Bottle...not one of my favorites from Brooklyn. Despite its nice color, it tasted a little flat, with a foul-smelling odor. Mostly just malt here. I usually like Brooklyn’s brews but this one ranks low. alobar (1015), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Nice copper color with a copious white head. Weak aroma-mostly malts. Nice bitter taste with a balance between malts and hops. Decent offering overall. mgumby10 (1850), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Pours a light copper color, mostly clear, with a tiny white head. Nice maltiness shows up mostly up front, with some hops in the background. The taste has that English feel to it, always a profound bitterness with some hops and malts. Nothing really stands out, and nothing is really exciting throughout this experience. Bitter finish and aftertaste, hops were formidable in the end. JHunter (244), British Columbia, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2007 The color was a light caramel. The head was creamy, frothy, light beige, and laced a little. The aroma was somewhat bland. It had maybe some ligth spice. The flavor had some hops but was lacking. The palate was okay, nothing special. The finish was somewhat metalic. Poured a dark amber with a thin off white head that managed to hold onto a thin cap for 2/3rds. Malty vanilla caramel aroma. Light floral hop too. Toasty malt flavour with a clean bitter finish. A little watery around the edges as a general impression. Enjoyed it more as I drank it. Maybe I was expecting something much different since it was not labelled Pale Ale. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Bottle of the ’55 version, bb Aug 07. Copper with a medium and lasting head. Aroma of molasses and metallic-pine hops. Flavor is metallic caramel, and has that twang of something that I hate in Bass (the yeast or the fuggles maybe). Palate is pretty smooth, light-medium, and dryish. Has flavor, just not any that stroke my taste buds the right way. A lot better than Bass is about the best I can say about it.
