mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 16, 2007 Pours a coppery amber with a small but lasting foam ring and a hoppy & soapy aroma. Nice bitterness, but the odd carbonation instantly reminded me of tonic water, and I could even detect a note of lime in the hops. Chalky dry aftertaste, and a thin but creamy body. The odd tonic-water carbonation and the soapy aroma make this an odd beer, and definitely not my favourite Brooklyn. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 15, 2007 Poured a standard amber with a medium thickness creamy light yellow head. The aroma was sweet, some caramel, hops evident. Fairly one dimensional. The flavor was a pretty even balance between hop and malt, light bitterness, sweetness, metallic bitterness. The palate was mild and slight waxy. Not a bad beer, just an easy drinker. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 14, 2007 a rustier ipa appearance with a thick foam, tiny bubbled head, maybe a quarter inch. looks pretty carbonated. i smelled my friend’s yesterday and could tell right away it was super english. what a letdown. malty, feety aroma. taste is somewhere between an english ESB and a sam adams boston lager. so, malty and feet, a bit watery fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 14, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear light amber with a one finger head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma is biscuits, slightly fruity, citrusy, and floral with a hint of sweet malt at the end. Taste is biscuity, somewhat grainy, light sweet malt, and mild floral hops. Mouthfeel in a little thin with a very mild amount of bitterness. Good. steelers37 (62), little ferry, New Jersey, USA Jul 12, 2007 dark amber pour, with a slightly sweet aroma. faint hops roll into a slightly sweet malt finish.ok DaSilky1 (1933), San Diego, California, USA Jul 11, 2007 A metallic tasting ale with messy bitterness and citrus rind flavors. Its golden bronz with nice head formation but the nose is kinda messy with malts and sharp hop notes. The mouthfeel is sort of watery with astringency towards the back of the tongue. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a honey amber body with a slightly larger than 1 finger, soapy looking dirty white head. On the nose we have floral hops, citrus rinds and dishwater. Also get some sweet grains. Tastes of citrus, floral hops, dough and grains. Heavily astringent on the tongue. Medium to light bodied, oily palate. Finish is slighty bitter, spicy and of medium length. Unremarkable but unoffensive. Canadianlush (169), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA Jul 8, 2007 Pretty average overall. Rich amber coloring, but almost no head or noticable aroma. Smooth but not very hoppy and not very bitter. Exactly what makes this an English Pale, I don’t know. Drinkable but boring.
