COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

12 oz bottle from a trade with Bungalo22. my bottle was the Brooklyn Pennant ’55 Ale version. poured copper with a small head. nice bicuit aroams accompanied by some fruitiness. flavours are nice and malty without being overly sweet. hops are there to balance things but play no major role in aroma or flavour. a decent brew but nothing ill go out of my way to get.

Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale ’55 is a dense amber ale with a small, dense, frothy off-white head that fades to a thin film with oily bubbles. It has nice dense lacing. (I just used the word "dense" three times in describing this beer’s appearance.) It has a smooth malty aroma with some spicy hops in it. The body is medium-light, foamy and pretty smooth. The flavor is well balanced, crisp and resiny. The bitterness is ample with a soft spice. The aftertaste is resiny with a touch of wood and leather. It’s a nice, well rounded session ale.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2008 Pours thin dark amber with big bubbles and a lovely creamy white froth. Smells very English. Sour biscuity malt aroma. Rich English malt flavor with just the right touch of hops to accent it. Slightly sweet slightly fruity and slightly bitter. Medium body with larger but still nice carbonation. Good stuff and yea very balanced and drinkable.

Solid session beer. Had this under the moniker of "Pennant Ale". Nice lacey head, clean and crisp, smooth finish. Gimme more.

Pours a orangish brown with a decent head. Toffee aroma with English ale malt. Smooth flavor with buttery toffee rounded off with the slightest grassy hop. A nicely balanced beer with a good clean flavor. Brooklyn might be new to the Chicago area. I look forward to trying their other brews now.

I don’t know what all falls under this umbrella, but I’m reviewing the Pennant Ale.

Appearance: Slightly hazy, copper-tan color with a thin white head.

Aroma: Grass, highish-alpha hops, rain, brown sugar, white pepper.

Taste: Hoppy, slightly acidic, very mild chocolate note, sour apple, herbs.

Palate: Tart and snappy.

Overall: A great summer ale -- classic, no gimmicks, well-rounded. Avoid food that’s *too* spicy, but this is great with summer fare, as well as a good concoction of red beans & rice.

Serving type: bottle

Bottle 12oz. English style pale ale that smells of sweet malt and has a mild bitter hop finish. Head is very small and non lacing white. Nothing too impressive here but drinkable.
