spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2007 Pennant ale 55.Good amount of soap in the aroma.Pours a cloudy orange/red with very little head.Got some sweet malt and the same soap as in the aroma.Medium mouthfeel with a pretty bad after taste. agl108 (503), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 6, 2007 12 oz. bottle at flat rock saloon (thanks Sal). Pours amber with thin white head that left only a ring around the glass. Metallic, fruity nose. Malty with light hoppy bitterness. Not much a fan of Brooklyn’s beers. Hype bottle though. michael-pollack (2606), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 4, 2007 12oz. Bottle: Aroma is malty, and smells of bread, but also evidences some floral hops. Poured copper in color with a small tan head that diminished quickly. No lacing. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is malty and tastes of cardboard, bread, earth, and a little bit of hops. Light to medium body. Average carbonation. Short bitter finish. Overall, drinkable, but nothing special. DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Feb 1, 2007 A great example of the English bitter style. Red amber, moderate head generating scant lacing. Earthy, bready aroma with faintly vegetal hops. Sweet caramel malt with equal earthy and hoppy elements, moderately bitter finish. Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Feb 1, 2007 This came as Pennant Ale’55. Dark, reddish amber color and a moderate, but lasting head. The aroma has notes of hops and fruit. The flavour is aromatic and quite full with a lot of fruit notes (tangerine and melon), caramel, aroma hops, roasted malt etc. A nice one. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Jan 23, 2007 Pours out a nice medium amber forming a nice frothy white foam head. Aroma of dough, malt, & hops. Has a nice hoppish flavor with a wonderful malty feel and taste.Very good beer, extremely sessionable. Once again Brooklyn, with thier excellent brewmeister Garret Oliver, has done another fine job. JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA Jan 21, 2007 This is a nicley made beer. Nothing over the top but nice a crisp with good malt/Hops flavor! Stefano (1323), Esbjerg, Denmark Jan 21, 2007 Clear, copper coloured body is topped by a low white head. Smell is herbal hops. Sweet in the mouth with a light crisp finish. Nothin fancy but a well-balanced and tasty session ale.
