COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Pours a deep golden color with decent foamy head. Weak aroma but slightly sweet. Taste was less than spectacular and was very light on the palate. Not a bad beer but far from a good beer.

A decent pale ale, pours with a darker copper color, not quite amber. Minimal head, had a strong initial taste, but after that was more ordinary.

Pours a light copper color with medium off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves little lacing. Nose is muted floral and malt with a dry, slightly sweet mouthfeel. Flavor picks up the floral nose and adds a hint of grass, all a little on the malty side. My big sdsilike with thiss was the finish, which was dry to the point of being stale, with a lingering cottony after-taste. Okay, but nothing to write home about.

Not bad, but nothing remarkable either, in fact its only been fifteen minutes since I finished this and I can barely remember it.

pennant ale ’55 12oz bottle. nice beer; thick white head, tight carbonation. Malty nose maybe a touch of bitter floral as well. flavor is light bitter, cascade hops come through and the fuggles hops balance it out to give it depth in drinking. very drinkable, good mouth-feel, ok finish. easy to drink when its cool around 45-55F doesn’t warm up too well.

12 oz. bottle. Pours amber in color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is sweet malt with a touch of floral hops to balance. The flavor is biscuity malt and floral hops. Nothing is standing out. Rather underwhelming.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Carbonation was OK but a bit on the light side. A lighter color then the Brooklyn lager in my opinion but maybe that’s the light - looks like a light amber. It was smooth and a slight bit bitter. Getting grain taste - cereal grains. No fruit as described in the commercial description. As I am finding with most Brooklyn’s it stays on the palate in a consistent way.

Bottle reads Pennant Ale ’55. This was a decent English pale ale, a very drinkable one. Although smooth, it is not watery or thin. Malts are a bit dry. Good ale.
