COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Fruity aroma with a dark tan color. Taste is slightly hoppy with an interesting malt flavor. Overall a very good ale.

pennant ’55. nice golden color. virtually no head. malt aroma with a faint fruity-ness, hop character. light body, smooth finish. sweet malt flavor. not as bitter as i was expecting, which is actually kind of nice. slight fruity aftertaste. better than average, but nothing crazy special. nice session brew.

Pours a clear, medium-dark copper color. A small, fizzy, off-white head settles to a wispy film, leaving virtually no lacing behind. The aroma is dry and toasty, with mostly cereal grains and bitter, grassy hops showing. As it warms, a touch of honey sweetness emerges as a much welcomed balancing element. The flavor is bitter, with dried grassy notes showing sharply over toasted caramel and cereal grains. A medium body is somewhat harsh, with a gool deal of astringency coming through. I did not enjoy this one very much.

Bought the Brooklyn variety pack. I believe this beer has the best roasted malty flavor of the bunch. Somewhat like the Brooklyn Lager in that both are standard, middle-of-the-road for said style. Overall not a bad choice when shopping at the big-box supermarket.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Amber orange with orange-white head and lotsa lace. Malty orangy bready aroma. Caramel orange flavor with very mild tabacco bitterness. Medium body and carbo. Eh. I don’t expect it will win the pennant of beer.

Smells of nice lightly roasted malts and fresh floral hops. Pours a nice light clear copper with a nice pillowy white head. Taste is just like it smells, a perfect balance of roasted malts and fresh sour/bitter hops. Reminds me of their brooklyn lager, but an ale.
