3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Drink4Satan (666) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - DEC 13, 2007
A vigorous pours produces a standard golden colour with a thick, creamy off-white head that fades quickly to a spotty film. The date on the bottle assures that it was brewed this month. The nose is floral and grassy hops, honey and some bready malts. The flavour is balanced but bland, with doughy malt and light fruity hops, with a crisp, grainy and bitter finish. The body is watery and the palate duration is short. Nice for hot summer days, but as I drink this in my tube socks with a foot of snow outside, it is definitely lacking.

Nice aroma of malt and hops. Refreshing flavor of smooth malt and mild hops. Good balanced pale ale.

Pours a brownish-gold with a nice head. Aroma was pleasant... mainly floral hops, not much of the bitter variety. Malt was in there a bit, too. The flavor isn’t too distinctive, but it goes down smoothly and is certainly refreshing. A good beer if you’re looking for a standard pale ale.

Draft at the brewery. A fairly standard pale ale. Amber in color with an off white head. It has a smooth hoppy aroma. There is a great balance of flavors. Mild hops mix with a smooth malty sweetness. The malts impart almost a breadiness character. It is medium bodied with a clean finish.

15 NOV 07. 12oz bottle of Brooklyn Pennant Ale 55. Pours clear, copper color, with an egg-shell colored head. Aroma of fresh brewed ale. Medium hop aromaswith a rich malt body. Flavors are very well balanced. Clean bitterness in the finish. Rich and medium bodied.

12 Oz Bottle. Skunky, transparent pale malt aroma. Pours middle amber, with light haze and a rim of white head. Flavor is a predictably blah schmalz of underwhelming floor rot and dust. There’s some crisp sugar corners and refined yeast character in there somewhere but it gets buried by lackluster esters and an overly acidic hop dose. Finishes dry and bland. Another Brooklyn snorer.

Bottle. Pours a deep golden/light amber with a thick white head. Aroma of almost skunky/yeasty Eastern Eoropean style beers. Flavor was weak, with a certain grassiness. Maybe this was an old or bad bottle, I don’t know, but I won’t try again. UNDERWHELMING!

Draught pint at Pepper’s Pizza. Pours a pretty straight on amber with a nice, thick white head that lasts. Nose is pretty faint, some malts, a little hops. Flavor mimics nose, with a smooth, yet full flavored finish. Very nice english style pale ale.
