COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Tap. I liked this very much as it’s malty with a touch of sweetness and hops that makes for a great mouth full. Sometimes it displayed a passing watery element, but it didn’t bother me as I was looking forward to the next taste...

Bottle. Standard golden color. Nice solid, thin head. A little malt with a very lager-like scent on the nose. The taste is that of a English old ale mixed with an American Pale Ale...but watered down. The nice hoppy flavor is more diluted than it should be, so it teases towards being a better beer than it is.

Amber with decent, creamy off-white head / Faint, sweet. caramel malt nose / Light body, weak malts with no discernable hops, and without much finish / Simple flavors of light caramel malt with a little sweetness on the finish / Dissapointing effort for the usually reliable Brooklyn.

Pennant ale is not the same thing as Brooklyn Lager. Geez man, I live in Brooklyn. If it was the original beer representing Brooklyn Ber Co, the company would be out of business. The original is good. A balance between flavor and easy drinking. A bit filling but overall delicious for any occasion

A very drinkable beer. The aroma and flavor are not that exceptional but they are pretty smooth and go down easy. The flavor is a lot less hoppy than I’m used to for pale ales, which isn’t a bad thing if you prefer more balance.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

Bottle: Brooklyn Pennant Ale 55’- pours copper with a nice frothy cream head. Some lacing. Aroma faint. Taste has some bitterness covered by some malt. Bitter finish. Good Pale Ale.
