Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Bottle. Copper color, off white frothy head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of caramel malt, kind of cakey, a little bit of spice and hops. Hops more prevalent in the flavor, which offset classic roasty malts. Bitter, even somewhat sour finish. Palate was too thin and watery. I thought this was ’da bomb’ years ago, blowing Bass away. Now it seems just fair, decent, OK, etc...

i don’t know if i got this too close to the "best before" date of 8/06 but something ain’t right. no head, extremely watery. it’s only like a step or 2 above a coors. there is some malt taste with very slight hops which saves it from BMC territory. that’s what i get for drinking when i should be studying

Brooklyn Brewery is one of my favorit micro breweries and Brooklyn Pennant Ale ’55 is one of my favorite Brooklyn brews! Amber/light orange color. Clear with moderate carbonation. Aroma is mostly malt. Flavor is initially caramel malt with honey undertones and then a nice hop finish. Great balance of malt and hops. A nice crisp, clean, and enjoyable brew. 12 oz bottle; $7.99 per 6-pack.

Amber beer with a medium lasting white head. Flowers and honey aroma. Dry flavour dominated by caramel, with some hops and bitterness in the finish.
