Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Brooklyn Pennant Ale ’55 - Pours a light amber color. Aromas of fruit, hops, and light caramel malt sweetness. Flavor is hoppy but a well balanced mixture of hops and malts, with a nice citrus taste.

Bottle, late night at the Temple Bar, Copenhagen, RBESG Pub Crawl, August 2005. Last beer of a very long day. Thought I’d got something unusual as it was labelled Pennant Ale 55, but it turns out its just a rebadge of Brooklyn Ale. Dry and malty. Pleasant enough but not too interesting.

as Rooklyn Pennant 55 ale. Okay, not too bad. No overly powerful aroma, but pretty decent regular run of the mill ale. Malty flavor, with some orange and a pretty clean finish.

Pours a crisp clear light orange color with a smalla mount of foamy white head. Aroma is citrusy hops and caramel malts. Flavor is pretty plain, a bit watery, slightly sweet and orangey, with a slight hop finish. Overall, a dissapointment from such a good brewery.

This ale was consumed at the Capital Ale House. It was very disappointing. There was little hops flavors and no citrus. It was rather drab not exciting like other pale ales. The color was dark straw and the head was modest. It was medium to light in body. It did have a smooth finish.

I saw this beer and it drew my interest, especially with the baseball on the label. A nice ale, golden color, with a bitter taste. Smooth and dry. Try it while it lasts, because I dont think it will be around long!

Pennant bottling. Clear amber, little head. Aroma of caramel and faint vegetal hops. Flavor is in fact biscuit oriented, with lightly floral and orange accented hops. A bit vegetal on the finish, but not bad. Tends towards what many would consider a standard Amber.
