rebelbrewer (125), Lithonia, Georgia, USA Mar 22, 2006 12 ounce bottle which says “Brooklyn Pennant Ale ‘55” – Very clear light brownish gold in color and well carbonated. The head was white and about ¼ inch high and not long lasting. There was no lacing. The aroma was of caramel malt with a hint of popcorn. A slight roasted malt not to sweet flavor. Light on the palate and leaves no aftertaste. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Mar 4, 2006 Clear amber w/ creamy finger of pale tan foam. Sweet malty aroma of caramel & toffee w/ a mild, earthy fruitiness. Juicy, syrupy feel. Nicely balanced flavour--sweet & malty w/ a light, resiny hoppiness. Clean finish. webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA Feb 28, 2006 Hay, Apple and Pear... purs a cloudy ruddy orange bown. Not as hoppy as i would have expected give a Pale Ale, but has a sweet taste, somewhat, also unexpected. Poured with a small head (2-3 centimeters). A little bitter aftertaste, but finishes much like their brown ale (drank the same evening). Generally a good session ale, and very pleasant. Some lacing on the glass and very little, outside the cream mentioned earlier, on the tongue.(Bottle 2/28/2006) beerscout (62), Albany, New York, USA Feb 25, 2006 Tap. Copper/caramel color, with a white head that dissipated to a lacey surface. Nice aroma, both hoppy and fruity. Smooth mouthfeel and flavor is sweet, nutty, and caramel like. Hops are well matched with the malt to provide a nice balanced flavor that is not too strong, yet gives a medium-body full of flavor. Solid. thehinge (244), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Feb 13, 2006 Aroma is nutty. Pour is a clear copper color with nearly no head. Taste has a strong hints of nuts and fruit with just a slight hop finish. I’d drink this again. NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Feb 12, 2006 Bottle. As ‘Pennant Ale’. Pours a nice copper colour with a short-lasting off-white head. Sweetish malty and hoppy aroma. Flavour is equally sweetish and malty with hoppy notes. Has a caramel finish. 10-02-06. obxdude10 (1546), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 8, 2006 #1200 for me (thank you all very much! j/k), not too bad of a beer to have for a milestone, poured amber in color with an average tan head, little to no lacing around the glass, aroma full of caramel, earth & just a touch of citrusy hops, medium in body, very smooth & drinkable, mostly malty flavors at first but then a nice wallop of hops toward the end of the palate, very well balanced, smooth & sweet finish with a little more bite of hops, not a bad pale ale at all
beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Feb 1, 2006 12 oz. Bottle. Pours a deep, slightly hazy amber with a moderate white head. Aroma is somewhat sweet and yeasty. Flavor reminds me of sweetgrass. Light hop finish. Good stuff.
