Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jan 26, 2006 Pours gold with a small white head. Smells of tea, grass, some wildflowers, earthy. Taste is of caramel, lemons, some grapey notes. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA Jan 23, 2006 This beer pours a golden, color caramel in nature. It leaves a white laced head that disappates quickly as you drink. The beer is clear and bright, looks inviting. As you smell it malt, grass, and grapefruit come to mind. The taste is lemon, honey, caramel....this is great session beer one that would go well with blue cheese burger or fish and chips. A dish that has a salty finish.
GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jan 15, 2006 Bottle. Pours a golden orange color with bubbly white head. Caramel nose and flavor reminiscent of Bass. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jan 10, 2006 "Pour a darker golden brown with very small head. very little lacing, smelled of hops and little malts. Little bit of Caramel flavor, over all an okay beer. "
Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 9, 2006 draft Pours a nice amber with a white head. Aroma is of flowers and carmel. Taste is very good, medium body malty with a little hops. A light aftertaste. This is a very refreshing beer. I enjoy this one very much. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Jan 5, 2006 Bottle. Slightly hoppy aroma. Copper colour, small head. Light flavour, fruity and refreshing. dornoy (678), Lyngby, Denmark Dec 29, 2005 White head on an amber body. Nicer than I expected, an ale of high quality. Nice and esy drinking. eczematic (1198), Sydney, Australia Dec 26, 2005 i was expecting some sort of bland sweet amber ale but was pleasantly surprised to have a solid EPA of the second rank. the malt and hops are carefully put together in this but the only thing missing is some sort of character, yeast or water or something to make it stand out. smell is full of fuggles - almost overwhelmingly so, like you’ve just upturned some soil to find a big sack of pipe tobacco. with a slightly decomposing pawpaw on top of it. colourwise it is a perfectly acceptable clear warm pale brown. flavour deftly combines clean, full bready maltiness with just the right amount of caramel to fatten it up and touches of biscuittiness. bitterness is well-balanced and notably softer, longer and more pleasant than so many american beers with their resinny, high co-humulone premature ejaculations. aftertaste is amiably earthy and woody. i’d like to have this on cask.
