Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Amber pour with one finger head. Aroma is sweet malt with some citrus, roast, and astringent notes. Flavor is a bit grainy, with caramel and biscuit malt notes. Palate is thin and a bit watery with a semi dry finish. Decent, but not overly impressive.

Pours an attractive amber color revealing some lively carbonation. Smells of sweet residual sugars are present beside the malty background. Tastes like a bit of corn mixed with sugar and musty basement floor. The finish a bit like the must basement again. Not really an enjoyable beer.

12oz, bonus a ways back. Pours orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet and citrus. Taste is too bitter in my opinion. but ok.

Overall Impression: I use to drink this one a lot a few years back, its a nice Pale, that is really easy to drink and still has a decent flavor, definitely a good choice if you are looking for something that’s pretty simple but still has a decent flavor...

Officially my go to beer. I have Brooklyn Lager on tap at my bar and it does not sell well (the regular person does not respect beer the way us ratbeer enthusiast’s do) but I am going to get the pennant ale in bottle. Perfect for a sports bar--light enough, smooth, nothing overwhelming in the taste, and of course the baseball logo on the pennant ale emblem--a tribute to the 55’ Brookyln Dodgers. Great beer to keep drinking and drinking and still respect the taste and importance the Brooklyn Brewery emphasizes with their beer.

12 oz bottle as Brooklyn Pennant Ale 55. Pours copper with medium carbonation and nice but short lived white head. Aroma of pine hops with hints of malt. Body is medium and crisp. Flavor of pine hops and sweet fruity malt upfront with a short earthy hops finish. Not bad for the style.

Bottle as broklyn Pennant Ale 55.. Modesy head that disappears pretty quick. Not much lacing. Nice cooper color, some faint hops odor, a touch of sweetness, rust and malt. Nice everyday beer. Finish slightly bitter

Copper in colour with a small full looking off-white cap with good retention (considering the ammount of head, which is a good ammount for the style) and some spotty lacing. Light carbonation. Smell is a nice blend of the malts and hops, but the carmelly malt is more dominant and the floral hops secondary. It’s got a earthy smell too. Very appealing aroma. Quite a good ammount of mild flavour here...very full. Good caramelly malts with a good mix of noticable but not strong bitterness. Fruity notes as well. There is a bit of a acidy taste on the back end that sort of annoys but does not offend. Medium bodied, medium carbonation and a good fruity bitter finish with something that reminds me of steak spice or BBQ sauce...go figure.
