Tastes similar to scottish red ale, but with a metallic aftertaste. Honestly, my only regret is that I’d have picked a better beer to celebrate my 100th rating. jcr (1148), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Bottle. Medium amber body. Fizzy off-white head that slowly diminishes. Malty toast (slightly burnt) aroma with a hint of orange. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lighlty sweet and lightly bitter. A slight acidic attertaste. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Smooth drinker though more hop presence would have been appreciated. fata2683 (860), Panama City, Florida, USA

Sweet caramel aroma with some yeast aromas. Light malt and a apple skin finish with little hop presence. Drinkable but boring. oteyj (726), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Amber pour with one finger head. Aroma is sweet malt with some citrus, roast, and astringent notes. Flavor is a bit grainy, with caramel and biscuit malt notes. Palate is thin and a bit watery with a semi dry finish. Decent, but not overly impressive. beerchugger (293), Colorado, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Pours an attractive amber color revealing some lively carbonation. Smells of sweet residual sugars are present beside the malty background. Tastes like a bit of corn mixed with sugar and musty basement floor. The finish a bit like the must basement again. Not really an enjoyable beer. WeeHeavySD (2960), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

I use to drink this one a lot a few years back, its a nice Pale, that is really easy to drink and still has a decent flavor, definitely a good choice if you are looking for something that’s pretty simple but still has a decent flavor... bobert (6), woodcliff lake, New Hampshire, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 21, 2009 Officially my go to beer. I have Brooklyn Lager on tap at my bar and it does not sell well (the regular person does not respect beer the way us ratbeer enthusiast’s do) but I am going to get the pennant ale in bottle. Perfect for a sports bar--light enough, smooth, nothing overwhelming in the taste, and of course the baseball logo on the pennant ale emblem--a tribute to the 55’ Brookyln Dodgers. Great beer to keep drinking and drinking and still respect the taste and importance the Brooklyn Brewery emphasizes with their beer.
