COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

12oz bottle, purchased for $1.42 from Dutch’s. Hazy red orange appearance, minimal head leaving some lacing. Really coppery aroma. Hops are there, but the malt is kind of unpleasant. It hits you quick then stops suddenly. Strong carbonation. Bitter with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Not my thing.

12 oz bottle. This is a well carbonated copper colored beer that has a nice thick tan head. A pleasant aroma of malts and light fruit. The flavor is similar with some grain. The finish is sour. Not bad at all.

12 oz. bottle, pours clear dark amber with a small head. Aroma of sweet caramel / English malts balanced by light hoppiness. Flavour is pretty mild and a bit watery - English-style caramel malt, light hop characteristic and biscuit. Drinkable.

Bottle (from the november 2005 RB-tasting at Dixens place - notes have been damaged by flooding of my basement, but this was such an insane tasting for me as I was new to such massive tastings, so I gave up on the detailed notes quite early). Hops. Nice orange fruit. All I wrote...
