Pours copper with medium carbonation and nice but short lived white head. Aroma of pine hops with hints of malt. Body is medium and crisp. Flavor of pine hops and sweet fruity malt upfront with a short earthy hops finish. Not bad for the style. kassner (440), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA

Nice cooper color, some faint hops odor, a touch of sweetness, rust and malt. Nice everyday beer. Finish slightly bitter Vertical Bacon Strips (888), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Copper in colour with a small full looking off-white cap with good retention (considering the ammount of head, which is a good ammount for the style) and some spotty lacing. Light carbonation. Smell is a nice blend of the malts and hops, but the carmelly malt is more dominant and the floral hops secondary. It’s got a earthy smell too. Very appealing aroma. Quite a good ammount of mild flavour here...very full. Good caramelly malts with a good mix of noticable but not strong bitterness. Fruity notes as well. There is a bit of a acidy taste on the back end that sort of annoys but does not offend. Medium bodied, medium carbonation and a good fruity bitter finish with something that reminds me of steak spice or BBQ sauce...go figure. GranvilleTim (477), Granville, Illinois, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Beer appears to me bright honey brown little thin cap with less then average retention and zero lacing, not much of a beer to look at. Mild aroma with a descant amount of hops but the hops are not over bearing, some very sweet scented malts and a cameral note is defantly noticeable, smells good but to mild for my liking. Mouth feels seems dry but not to thin with descant amount of carbonation. Taste was also light, its strange I can detect bitterness, maybe some mellon?!?!??! But there doesn’t seem to be any taste to it, but there’s flavor at the same time what the hell? Good brew, very drinkable and enjoyable but every thing about it seems too mild probably could have been slightly more aggressive. italarican (163), Astoria, New York, USA

Rich amber color. Overall, a rich, malty flavor. It went down rather easy. Nothing particularly extraordinary but enjoyable nonetheless. italianjohn (346), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma was fairly malty and slightly sweet with little evidence of any hops. Flavor was also quite malty with none of the sweetness that the aroma foretold. Nutty malts dominate. Hops only evident in the finish, which is slightly bitter and clean. OK... not great... needs more hops to fulfill its supposed pale ale heritage.
