COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Pours dark reddish orange with thin white head, aroma has notes of wet grain, fusels, touch of caramel, citrus. Taste is some oddly bad combination of fusel, grain, wet cardboard, sourness, some slight dry bitter finish. No thanks...I just hope this was a bad bottle.

A cloudy orange tinted amber brew with a small white head. The aroama is of sweet malt and hops. The flavor is the same. Pretty nice.

On tap. Poured a clear amber with an off-white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of malts with a bread and grain note with a bit of light fruit and pine backing. Flavor was similar with a strong bready malt backbone with a growing pine note. Nothing special.

Clear, very light amber pour with gigantic bubbles that dont leave much head. Aroma is extremely biscuity. Some dry funky hops accent the caramel and crackers notes. Taste is sort of funky. Dry saltine taste with mild fruity esters, and a very light bitterness on the finish. Somewhat tea-like. Palate fell flat after those big bubbles dissipated. Easy to drink, tough to enjoy.

Bottle. Copper brown with an off-white foam. Aromas are grain and rye with dusty, earthy hops and chocolate. Metal with hints of lemon. Strawberry with yeast. Flavours are grain with citrus and earthy hops. Peppery on the finish. Not great.

This beer sucks. It had a very bitter and citrus taste that left an unpleasant aftertaste in my mouth. I would recommend that one drink this beer before drinking a good beer, to fully appreciate how good beers are supposed to taste.

Tap. Red amber pour with a larger white head. Sweet malt aroma. Taste is biscuit, caramel, a touch of citrus, and a bit metallic. Not altogether pleasant.

Bottle, mybrewerytap.com. Sweet malt aroma and taste, with the biscuit taste coming in immediately. Soft and slightly chalky, definitely a nod towards a standard English bitter. Some lemon peel comes into the aroma, midway, but it tails off generally, towards the end, becoming thin and a bit skunky.
