Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Draught, JFK International Airport: darker brown than many pale ales, boasting more malt flavour on top of some bitter English style hops. Finish is long and malty, really a tasty treat while waiting to board…

Recently picked one up again because they’re doing the whole Pennant ’55 thing again and I’m a Dodgers fan. Amber color with thick white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy but nothing special. Some hops, fruit, and maybe a little yeast in the flavor. This is the kind of beer you drink for quantity I think.

As Pennant Ale ’55. Clear copper, creamy off-white head. Sweet buttery caramel and hop aroma. Flavor has watery Kool-aid hops with some papery citrus notes. Not that good.

Light and crisp. A little yeast flavor and some mild hops. Pretty tame overall, but I’d say a good beer to drink. I bought a six pack and drank it in one sitting with some friends. While it won’t explode with some crazy flavors, it’s something that’s good for a night of drinking, to relax or just to have around.

Enjoyable English Pale Ale that gets the balance between malt sweetness and hop bitterness just right. Proof that an East Coast brewery can brew an good English Pale Ale.

Bottle as Pennant Ale ´55. Amber colour with a small off white head. Hoppy aroma and flavour of caramel, malt and hops.
