COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Pennant Ale '55...Brooklyn Pennant Pale Ale '55 is a classic English pale ale, brewed with the prized Maris Otter Malt and Fuggles, Willamette and Cascade hops. Maris Otter is an old malt variety that yields an incomparable biscuity flavor. Pennant is chesnut-colored, medium in body with a hearty malt palate and smooth hop finish. This beer is a tribute to Brooklyn’s world champion baseball team.

Light brown ale with a hazy cloud. Nose of malt and cardboard Sweet malt with some nuttyness and a light hops, but again, the beer is oxidized, with the stale cardboard coming out. Body is still nice and would be medium.

Copper coloured beer with a thin off white head. Slightly sweet, caramel aroma. Some orange and earthy/herbal hop aroma. Soft floral character and some light cherry and apple esters. Great malt structure, fresh toasted grain, bread crust and a very soft spicy hop flavour. Soft bitterness that fades leaving the lingering toasty sweetness slowly fading on the palate. A hint of chocolate. Light cherry and earthiness. Nice balanced brew. Another surprise from these guys.

Deep copper colored with a generous head. Slightly hoppy aroma, but little hop flavor in the body. The finish is dry and crisp, but the complexity of the body is lacking. It’s tough to compete with some of the more hoppy pale ales on the market.

Bottle. Just slightly hazy in appearance, dark amber orange in color. The nose is a little hard for me to figure out, but it’s not really complex at all. Has some light brown sugar and cracker malt scents, along with some orange and mango fruit scents, but overall it’s not very appealing. Resembles an oxidized or infected old ale, but it’s clear to me that there is no actual infection. Crisp and flavorless up front, more of the same over the middle, with some spoiled orange and tin flavors appearing. Finish is wet, flavorless, plain. Not a bad beer, but really lacking character.

Bottle. Copper brown with an off-white foam. Aromas are grain and rye with dusty, earthy hops and chocolate. Metal with hints of lemon. Strawberry with yeast. Flavours are grain with citrus and earthy hops. Peppery on the finish. Not great.

Very boring sweet bitter. A touch of light grains. Very little aroma at all. Too sweet, underattenuated. Meh.

some hops and well malted. Medium mouthfeel from nuttiness. Good carbonation. Tad of metallic aftertaste. Tad of bitterness. Decent attractive darker colour and head.

Bottle. Pours brilliantly clear amber with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is lightly toasted biscuit malt, light straw and hay notes, fruity esters, minty and earthy hops. Flavor is malt forward, medium hops and bitterness, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Light body and warmth, medium carbonation.
