There was little hops flavors and no citrus. It was rather drab not exciting like other pale ales. The color was dark straw and the head was modest. It was medium to light in body. It did have a smooth finish. TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA

The taste is sweet. There is a caramel taste to go with the malt and I cannot detect much in the way of hops. There is a sort of bread dough taste to it as well. The finish has some light bitterness to it but leans towards being semi-sweet. There is almost a plastic or synthetic aftertaste to it which detracts from what is otherwise a good beer. Okay, this isn’t great but it ain’t bad either. Dark amber color with a light tan head. Malty nose with some floral and some fruit. Nice feel in the mouth. Flavor is nothing extraordinary but it’s good. Some sweetness and maltiness. spkldhenlvr24 (469), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA

Decent hoppy aroma, malty. Same is true for the flavor. Well-hopped all around. Good beer. Tmoney99 (4807), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Tastes kind of like some of the English beers I’ve had so if that is what they were trying for they suceeded. bobert (6), woodcliff lake, New Hampshire, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 21, 2009 Officially my go to beer. I have Brooklyn Lager on tap at my bar and it does not sell well (the regular person does not respect beer the way us ratbeer enthusiast’s do) but I am going to get the pennant ale in bottle. Perfect for a sports bar--light enough, smooth, nothing overwhelming in the taste, and of course the baseball logo on the pennant ale emblem--a tribute to the 55’ Brookyln Dodgers. Great beer to keep drinking and drinking and still respect the taste and importance the Brooklyn Brewery emphasizes with their beer. craftycarl21 (601), South Hero, Vermont, USA

Aroma holds wheat, biscuit, and some definite notes of some sort of English ale; not a lot of hop present on the nose. Flavor has an interesting balance between flowery hops and a bit of sweet caramel malt. Nothing special, but certainly a serviceable session ale coming from Brooklyn Brewery.
