Tap at Brooklyn Ale House. Nose is light and grassy. Poured a light clear caramel color. Crisp and malty. Grassy with a bitter finish. Not bad, sessionable.

I have enjoyed Brooklyn beers in the past, but now I get to officially rate them. The Pennant Ale pours a deep amber with little head. This one has a malty doughy aroma. Like a sourdough almost. There is a slight bitterness and the brew finishes crisp. However, there is a bit of a metallic aftertaste. It kind of reminds me of an old school brew but there is nothing outstanding about this beer for me but it’s drinkable and pleasant nonetheless.

It’s OK. Has a bit of the Euro-lager aroma and taste to it. Light hops flavor and very light palate. Not really all that good, but not bad either.

Beer is a clear, medium brown with a small, frothy, totally and quickly diminishing head. The aroma is malty with moderate toasted grain and caramel; Hoppy with light notes of herb and pine; Yeasty with a light note of dough and sharp cheese; Light miscellaneous notes of diacetyl and over-scrubbed stainless-steel pots. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, trace bitter with an average-length, moderately acidic, trace bitter, lightly sweet finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is less-than lively.

Bottle 12oz. English style pale ale that smells of sweet malt and has a mild bitter hop finish. Head is very small and non lacing white. Nothing too impressive here but drinkable.
