17thfloor (636), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2008 Updated: Jun 25, 2008 Pours thin dark amber with big bubbles and a lovely creamy white froth. Smells very English. Sour biscuity malt aroma. Rich English malt flavor with just the right touch of hops to accent it. Slightly sweet slightly fruity and slightly bitter. Medium body with larger but still nice carbonation. Good stuff and yea very balanced and drinkable.
Capa (719), Yokosuka, Japan Aug 18, 2008 Mild spices, ratehr earthy, and some sweet malts in this English PA. I thought the earth tones were a bit overdone, but it is in the English style, so maybe it fits. This is OK, but I got tired of it pretty quick. Guinness4Duff (456), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour with a thick white head. Has a nice hop aroma with an underlying sweetness. Nice flavor, sweet malt up front with a great dry hoppy finish. Pretty good. daknole (644), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 15, 2008 On tap at JFK airport. Amber pour, fluffy white head. Aromas of light malt and wheat crackers. Flavor is malty and pretty smooth, but boring. Very boring. MikeRa (12), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 13, 2008 Labeled Pennant Ale ’55. It has a nice biscuit aroma and a smooth hop taste. It is very drinkable, and will drink again. wcampbell (411), Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 9, 2008 Labeled Pennant Ale. Not a fan of English pale ales at all. More malt than hops in this, but not too much of anything. Caramel malty flavor like a bitter or ESB. Crisp finish. Pretty drinkable though.
