I have Brooklyn Lager on tap at my bar and it does not sell well (the regular person does not respect beer the way us ratbeer enthusiast’s do) but I am going to get the pennant ale in bottle. Perfect for a sports bar--light enough, smooth, nothing overwhelming in the taste, and of course the baseball logo on the pennant ale emblem--a tribute to the 55’ Brookyln Dodgers. Great beer to keep drinking and drinking and still respect the taste and importance the Brooklyn Brewery emphasizes with their beer.

Pours a deep, hazy amber that shows brighter orange when held up to the light. THe head is big and fluffy but retreats quickly to a small cap.
The aroma is mainly bready malts and lightly toasted grains, with a bit of caramel in there as well. The hops are very subdued with only a little bit of earthy character.
The taste is a bit bolder with some bigger flavors than the aroma would suggest. There is a more noticeable grassy and citrus hop presence up front, followed by a very English-style biscuity malt backbone. The finish is dry with a combination of toasted breads and light citrus bitterness.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and very creamy with a soft but ample carbonation.
I tasted this one side by side with Brooklyn’s East India and I think I prefer this one actually. I think it’s a better example of the style than the IPA is with more complexity. Tasty. SudsMcDuff (1860), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

had a distinct biscuity-pale-malt TsT1T2 but faded very quickly into a nicely-balanced citrus-hop T2T3Tf.
great with a burger or fish&chips.
the pale ale that finally convinced me that maybe the style isn’t all bad, and even made it my go-to style when i’m thirsty. Blom (527), Odense, Denmark

Pours an attractive looking clear amber with a large foamy off-white head that left good lacing rings. Nose was malts with floral and grassy hops. Body is medium with average carbonation. Flavor is actually milder than the aroma would promise and was basically caramel malts and some light bitterness that carries over to the finish. This would make an excellent session brew.
