2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Brooklyn’s Pennant Ale comes to the plate with a rusty orange color along with a medium home plate colored, foamy head. The glass delights the senses initially like a knuckleball with a sweet, floral aroma, but the excitement tapers off from there. With so many excellent beers in their catalog, it’s hard to imagine Brooklyn Brewery couldn’t engineer an above average pale ale. The starting pitcher seems to have been pulled after 2 innings: The body is thin, even a bit on the watery side. The flavor is too sweet with its citrusy overtones and brown sugar hints. The closer is an ending that is round with a rather stale bite to it. Pennant Ale isn’t terrible, but certainly doesn’t live up to it’s siblings in the Brooklyn lineup. There are better pale ales for the Midsummer Classic.

Not bad. Love the label but the beer ain’t anything to get excited about.. Golden yellow, earthy spicy hops and light biscuit and caramel. Not too exciting but well made. Probably a one timer for me."

Look here, this is exactly what you would want from an easy drink’er: a medium malty backbone, with a nice crisp hop presence. Don’t over-think this one, it is a fine session beer. Serving: Multiple pours off draft.

Transfer from BA review on 10-14-12-
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a golden orange color with a one finger white head that has a decent level of retention. Over a time of about 5 minutes the head fades to give a medium level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of a sweet caramel smell. Mixed with this aroma is a sweet toffee and a biscuit and light herbal smell. Overall, sweet, but quite pleasant.
Taste – The taste begins with a bready taste with some lighter notes of caramel. The caramel flavor grows stronger as the taste advances further. As it moves on more there are other flavors of a herbal and citrus hop bitterness that subdue some of the sweeter notes well. In the end a balanced sweet/malty/bitter flavor is left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium side with a carbonation level being just the same. Both are very good for the style and suit the flavors very well.
Overall – Quite nice and drinkable. A fantastically easy drinking brew with a good flavors.

Bottle from Glug Newcastle. Nice hefty biscuity flavour with a citrus aftertaste. Pretty classic, and another example of Brooklyn's versatility

Very enjoyable. English malts really make this one and I enjoy the hop of an America pale ale. Good. Not great.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear, copper in color with a small foamy head fading to just a ring around the edge. Little to no carbo’s.
Nothing to write home as far as aroma: malts and hops with the hops having a slight lemony taste.
Nothing special tatse wise, maybe a bit of biscuit. Dry
Last night I had a Samual Smith Old Brewery Pale Ale. That was a very good beer in my opinion.
The reviewed beer doen’t match up very well.
Drink well my friends

Tap at Lazy Dog. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma is mostly malty with just a hint of citrus. Taste of biscuits malts with that hint of citrus popping up here too.
