Pours amber with a bit of brightness. White head and a bit of lacing. Nose is sweet malt with a bit of fruit, toffee, and caramel. Taste is lightly sweet wihout much else. Medium body wig a bit of alcohol. Great concept, but fairly plain overall.

On draft with joe and graham at CAH. Pours a near clear amber with tan head. Sweet, grainy, malty, sticky. Lingering malt bite, some faint hops, and way too expensive.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 03/05/2010. Slightly hazy amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet caramel and earthy hop aroma. Sweet caramel, toast, malt, earthy hop flavor. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

Gorgeous ambers, garnets, rubies, and mahoganies shimmer amidst their glasses confines while a khaki head lingers long through our slow session together. Her nose is ripe plums of all varieties while pears and red apples keep them company. Almonds, pecans, pecan praline, maple, and black strap molasses are solid performers. Subtly sublime, her nose exudes flavors galore with classic finesse. I immediately wonder what Backbreaker would taste like cask-conditioned? Let’s just say my mouth waters just thinking about it… Smooth, creamy, and silky sweet, plums, maple, and sun-soaked yellow raisins glide across my tastebuds and down my throat with nary a whisper of protest. Clean and crisp, she moves with purpose, painting succulent pictures of pears and apples, hold the skin please, while nuts of all varieties delight. Almonds and pecans make sweet love to maple and black strap molasses for an amazing interplay of fresh nutty goodness and pecan praline divinity. The top of my tongue dries after each quaff, keeping my burgeoning thirst up-front and center. As we grow ever more intimate, wood and sawdust flitter in and out of her dry finish while pistachio and cashews join their nutty brethren. Her maple caramelizes for more crunchy sweetness while apricots join her fruity cousins for one last hoo-rah before my glass empties.
Shazam! Pull up a stool, grab a pint, and wile the night away. I may have been at Vine & Barley in St. Lucie West, Florida, but for those 30 minutes or so of my life, I was in merry ol’ England buying a round for my peeps before last call came to pass. So good, so tasty, so English, and so sessionable.

This bottled brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated transparent light orange brown colored body. The mild aroma was rye and malty. The vinous mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of vinous rye and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Caramel and pale fruit, Mild but still mellow and round with a medium-fiull feel that sticks. Grass and lemon hop, good refined flavors and balance. Ultimately successful.

On Draught at Cole’s. Clear but deep bright refractive slightly reddish-amber with a smallish creamy off-white head. Smells great - roasty, lush with resiny "C" hops - mmmm - some alcohol, not too sweet, which is nice - really appealing (8-). Taste is interesting, the hops in the aroma are hardly present in the flavour at all - it’s mostly solid roasty malt - sweet, with background herbal/resiny dry bitterness - definitely alcohol, and a hint of carbonization; "black IPA"? - solid, regardless - I’d like a BIT more flavour hopping. Average body, solid carbonation - has a nice, restrained, slightly dry bitter finish with just a hint of booziness. Good stuff.

Draft @ Coles, Buffalo. NY. Orange honey color. Aromas of sweet malts, hay, honey. Sweet malt driven flavor, hints of spice, light juicy fruit gum. Medium mouthfeel. Good solid beer

Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a clear copper color with no head. Nose was very light but was mostly malty what a surprise. Dry and malty session beer with some spice and bitter notes. Not much up front as the flavor is all in the middle. Very drinkable but not amazing.

Man, I thought that this was going to rock, but I came away disappointed. I have a lot of respect for Brooklyn, and for English ales, so I was sure that this was a must-have. Cloudy, medium to dark hone amber. Spot-on, slightly fruity English bitter aroma. Flavor, unfortunately, was a little astringent and homebrew-y, woody, cidery at times, and just came off as off-kilter. Mouth is light. Long tea-bitter finish. On draught, Capital Ale House, Richmond.
