Commercial Description:
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

2008 bottle. Pours black with a typical stout aroma. Taste is full of chocolate and coffee, but not really anything special. Some bitter hop notes in there, too. I honestly think this will get better with age, though. But, for now, it is just a solid stout and no more.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Dark as night with a thick tan brown that starts off frothy and dissipates to the edge. Aroma of chocolate malts and coffee. Flavor is not as strong of chocolate as I had hoped, was thinking of Southern Tiers version. Hides the 10 percent quite well. Very full body, creamy texture and not much carbonation. Overall a very good deal for what you get. 7 something for a 6 pack of 10 percent abv fine beer. Has some room for improvement but still a very fine beer.

The beer pours black as any I’ve ever seen with a head that reminds me of frothy chocolate milk, Coffee, malt, and chocolate dominate the nose and the palate. 10.6% alcohol and I did not even notice, because it is beautifully integrated. Wonderful.

Very nice with hints of coffee and coffee. Almost on par with a Youngs Double Chocolate Stout. Yummy.

Pours really creamy and light brown. Like brown sugar. Nice coffee aroma. Solid taste. Dark stout with coffee and roast. Little tartness lingers. Very nice.
