COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

Taste at the Brick Store Pub. Pitch black color, with a small, tan head and good lacing. The aroma is bittersweet chocolate, toffee, some light earthiness and some savory spices. The flavor is very sweet, and lightly bitter, with no abrasive roasted notes. Heavy body, creamy, and very smooth. This is a great, delicious, and easy-drinking stout.

Unbelievably chocolatey smell. Great taste, but probably requires a real connoisseur of stouts to appreciate. Worth a try at least!

Poors thick and dark with a firm and frothy head. A smooth stout with chocolate flavors. Hides the 10% ABV extremely well. A very enjoyable Stout. Perfect after dinner desert ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Chocolate aroma with alcohol sweetness coming through. Pitch black with a thin head though I may have poured this a little too cold. Thick feel on the tongue. Smooth chocolaty taste with booze in the finish. Pretty good stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours extremely dark with strong scents of chocolate and licorice. Most of the other reviews hit the mark for this beer but let it age and this is a new beast.

A very nice black stout. Very chocolatey. A real dessert beer. Super alcohol and rich licorice taste. Tried at the Old Line in 2014.

2014/04/15 - Pours an opaque black colour with a thick, creamy, khaki coloured head that lingers and leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roast, licorice, dark fruit and mild molasses. Taste is chocolate, roast, molasses, licorice and booze. Starts sweet progresses to a rich chocolate and roasted malt finish. Long aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin to medium and oily with soft carbonation and a bittersweet and warming finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Unfortunately, I lost the name of the sender, but thanks! A: Pitch black. Drifting cappuccino head. Good lacing, and some head retention. N: Char, baker’s chocolate, licorice, coffee. Prune and some raspberry/cherry overtures. Burned caramel. T: Bitter w/ ample bitter chocolate. Sweetness in the back. Straightforward, but good. M: Oily, heavy, no alcohol burn. O: A very interesting beer in the land of BBA. A granddaddy with plenty left in the tank and deserved place in the fridge.

A light film of head when poured - a very Deep dark brown head. Properly black pour - no light passes through. Cherry chocolate aromas, dark plum with a smoky lingering nose. Tasting: The slightly bitter hops rides over the whole taste journey from start to finish - the initial sharpness is immediately followed by smoky Dark Fruits, cherry chocolates and the whole flavour experience quickly picks up and peaks with a deep, dark chocolate, smoky finish that lingers in the mouth for an eternity. This Is to date the best imperial stout I have tasted - an absolutely fantastic accomplishment with deep and complex tastes and aromas all with a fantastic smoky finish leaving you wanting more! A must have.

3/25/14. Bottle. Pours near black with a hint of red on the edges. Thin accrue head that dissipates fast with little lacing. Light nose dominated by roasted notes. Thick boozy mouth with nice sweet chocolate, bourbon, and licorice flavors. Enjoy in sips by the fire. No doubt will age well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
