This is the famous Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, our award-winning rendition of the Imperial Stout style once made exclusively for Catherine the Great. We use three mashes to brew each batch of this beer, achieving a luscious deep dark chocolate flavor through a blend of specialty roasted malts. We brew it every year for the winter season. It is delicious when newly bottled, but also ages beautifully for years.

12oz bottle to snifter. Pours black with a dense dark brown head. Great retention. Aroma of dark chocolate, molasses, roasted malts, toffee, coffee. Taste is great. Earthy with nice roasted cocoa bitterness, brown sugar, roasted malty greatness and a crisp hop finish with some warming alcohol. Thick mouthfeel with a little carbonation, and it’s heavy on the palate. Cocoa bitterness sticks around awhile after.sipping, asking for more.

Smell of coffee, cocoa, deep dark brown color, light brown crown, taste of coffee, mild sweet at right bitterness, not too lasting finish and bit of tannin, very good. By the way ratebeer overrates stout a lot. Top 50 rate all perfect 100 score, how that possible?

This must be an oasis! One of my favourite beers, especially during the Winter. Pours a moderate brown head, which is 1-to-2 fingers and long lasting. Smell: Dominant coffee and chocolate flavours with hints of alcohol and dark fruits. Taste: Roasted maltines, chocolate and coffee aromas attack to your palate. It reminds me a bitter chocolate. The existence of %10 alcohol is noticeable but it does not disturbs the palate. Very long and beautiful bitter finish in the palate.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2015 Aromat: czekolada i kawa do potęgi. Do tego lekka paloność i niewielki alkohol. Tak powinien pachnieć RIS. Barwa: czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana bezowa / jasno brązowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, niewielka i raczej szybko opadająca. Można to jednak wybaczyć tak mocnemu piwu. Smak: spora słodycz, kwaskowość z ciemnych słodów i alkohol. Mega czekoladowy posmak z nutami kawy, palonością i niewielkimi melanoidynami.

Black with brown head. Chocolate, roasted malt, syrup and coffee bean aroma. Slick and thick palate. Sweet, floral, caramel and dark chocolate finish. Overall: nice and unique. The chocolate tastes a little cheap. Like chocolate syrup.

330 ml bottle. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, bread and ashes. Wonderfully creamy milk chocolate flavor, heavily roasted espresso beans, tobacco. The aftertaste is dry and bitter, hints of sawdust, cherries, pralines with great malt flavor and booze.

Black in color, opaque and viscous. The Beige Cream average color is dense and that is constructed in a spectacular ballet between the gasification and its consistent liquid. The aroma is very pleasant and high-intensity combined with the sweetness in the right measure. Perfect coffee notes with a background chocolate that slowly announces the roasted malt, the toffee and soft herbaceous hops nuances that are apparent by the strength of the alcohol content. The flavor is a flavor of the predecessor which in my view is reversed in size, as the bitter chocolate dominates the flavor that brings the strong coffee that now reveals notes of a light cappuccino, perhaps accentuated by the presence of toffee. The bitterness carries the palate by the presence of roasted malts and herbal hops that far away gives a subtle minty by the strong presence of alcohol, but nothing more. No minty chocolate or bullet such nuance that will be present. A lightness is brought weakly with plums, raisins, nuts and perhaps in the construction of taste in the mouth. A smoked or roasted light can be noticed by the presence of wood in combination with the roasting of some ingredients, but light and does not disturb the taste. The end is balanced as suggested by the mixture of ingredients used being slightly spicy the presence of alcohol and herbal varieties. The aftertaste is marked by the fervor of alcohol that broke into my throat, but it does not appear aggressive and prepares the "ground" for the strong presence of chocolate with a caffeine. Carbonation is moderately complex and being a good beer. The brand of this beer can be noted by the balance of its construction and a certain lightness and unpredictable to be tasted, even with such a sweeping presence of alcohol content. The drinkability is very good in this beautiful Stout!

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a creamy beige head. Aroma of choclate, coffee, roasted grain, a bit of alcohol. Taste is a lot of chocolate and coffee, roastiness. Creamy texture, low carbonation make it pleasant to drink.

33cl in teku. Pours a quite thin and tanned/brown head, pitch black colour. Smells dark chocolate, greatly roasted, woody, coffee beans, nice vanilla and light liquor notes. Tastes big malty, roasted cocoa and chocolate notes again, toffee, licorice; both medium to high sweetness and bitterness, some umami, light acid and boozy notes. Very tasty, long finish. Oily and silky, medium to heavy thickness. Rich, intense, and balanced, huge sipper. Nice one
